Nigloland / Walygator

Now that it's been a couple of months since I went, and I've been on another big trip since - I thought I should post the report of Nigloland and Walygator!

Part 1 - The big questions!

So - I know there are two things everyone's asking:

1 - How does Alpina blitz compare to the intamin mega lites?

In all honesty - They are very difficult to split - both have a slightly disappointing first drop and first airtime hill (Alpina is possibly a little more intense in the first curve), and then they turn into awesome airtime city through the lovely airtime bumps and slalom turn things - I have them both tied!

2 - And how does monster compare to nemesis?

It's a VERY intense ride - more so than batman's and I felt it was just too much. Personally I think Nemesis gets the intensity about right, so it's still way above monster for me.

A few people on the trip absolutely loved monster though, so horses for courses n all that...

---------------------

I flew into CDG on the friday, and took the train to bar sur aube, had dinner and got a taxi to the hotel des pirates at Nigloland - it's a bit of a bargain for around £60 a night

Stay tuned for pictures from the excellent africa cruise ride etc...

Ok - so here goes for
Day 1 - Nigloland

Blah blah, breakfast, blah met the rest of the ECC group, blah blah quick tour from rather attractive park employee, and on to Alpina Blitz

on the way I saw my third favourite theme park based statue of liberty:

We then moved on to "spatiale experience" - an indoor coaster, which I conveniently didn't take a picture of - It was meh!

Before more coasters - we rode Air meeting

Great fun - rode it 4 times throughout the day - managed to get it spinning on 2 of those - I think having the "outside" plane may help!

It was then time for Schlitt (note the "L" in the name) express - a mack wild mouse

It was ok if you like that sort of thing (I don't mind standard wild mice - it's just the reverchon/zamperla spinning efforts I don't like)

after the big apple thing, we did bobsleigh - a schwarzkopf contraption, which is here along with a bit of blue fire

Call me sentimental, but I rather liked it!

Before lunch we also rode the ghost train, which was fab!

Lunch was chicken and chips, and rather nice!

After lunch - I did the "africa cruise" - cheesy and fab, it had:
Urinating rhinos:

Hungry lions:

A croc

Partying chimps:

Oh dear...

Hosing elephants:

Some hunters in a predicament:

and a view of the car ride:

I then took some pics from the monorail:

went through the new dinosaur encounter

Were greeted by an eccentric professor

Once he'd woken up!

Thankfully, the dinos where all behind electric fences!

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

and a cute baby:

And the hedgehog ride / Dubious cred had to be done:

Before ERT on Alpina blitz, I had a slice of pizza - was pretty nice!

Alpina blitz is a lovely ride - every bit as good as the intamin versions!

The park itself is really nice - well laid out with a few star attractions!

We then had the long journey back to paris for hard rock cafe and Foire du Trone

Day 1 part 2 - Foire du Trone

AFter the long, cramped car trip from Nigloland back to Paris and a wait at hard rock cafe, only had time for a quick cred run.

So - First up was jet star (someone elses pic:)

Quite a nice Schwarzkopf. Impressively long too

There was a kiddy coaster which I didn't do (either a big apple or one of those awful spinning mice)

Secondly I approached king:

The more observant of you may notice the lack of riders on the train...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

yep -out of action!

Just around the corner was infernal toboggan (not my pic)

Which was pretty good fun.

I think I also did one of the ghost trains there

So - A nifty plus 2!

222 views and not many replies - Booo!

anyway - day 2 Walygator park

First up was ERT on Monster

A good oldschool, intense B and M invert - Certainly noticably more intense than Raptor, and also more relentless than Nemesis and batmans - A few of the group thought it was better than Nemesis - But I just enjoy the whole package on nemesis a lot more - and Monster was just too intense to enjoy rerides.

Then there was le grand pomme

And a rather disgusting loopyscrew thing

and Anaconda

Not quite as horrible as people say, but rather "Meh" to say the least

These guys then brought me my lunch

Only kidding - lunch was part of the ecc deal - and the only main course choice was a disgusting sausage and potatoes - although the bread and cheese for starter, and the chocolate Moelleux were delicious!

In the afternoon we did:
Air race:

(should have noticed that Stevie B was in the way!)

Pretty intense, but I'll probably do a ride or two if I'm at another park with one

The musical instrument-a-bout (with very uncomfortable seats)

Took some shots from the monorail

and did the boat tour thing which featured walygators from around the world

If you look carefully, you can spot the ride mechanism!

Oh NO - SHIPWRECK

And what ride would be complete without an eiffel tower holding a baguette?

The haunted castle thing was closed :(

and we were too big for the hand bikes :(

Park was quite nice, but I probably wouldn't rush back (unless they got a big new ride of course)

And I certainly didn't stand by the hands!
