New Rides Planned for Freizeitpark Plohn (Mack PowerSplash(?) / ART Wild Swing / Unknown Drop Tower)

Earlier this week, Freizeitpark Plohn, located in Eastern Germany, submitted a planning document to the local government seeking approval for installing multiple new rides in the northwestern end of the park, right in front of the entrance gates. The document specifically mentions "PowerSplash" and "Big Wavez", meaning we know the ride types/manufacturers for at least two of them, but the third ride is simply named "Drop-Tower", which could mean almost anything.

Based on this overhead, the rides would take up these numbered slots (283, 284 & 287 are the PowerSplash; 251a & 270c are the Big Wavez; and 251 is the drop tower):

There's also apparently going to be some remodeling done to the park entrance in addition to these new attractions.

For anyone who needs a reminder of what a Zamperla Big Wavez is, it's this:

If they get a Power Splash travel will be planned - so far refrained from going that far out for one new credit. With climate change specially south east of Germany is getting hotter a few new waterrides are a good investment I think.

Update-O-Rama:

So construction appears to have commenced on the Big Wavez, rumoured to open in 2025. A concrete foundation has been poured in its location within the park, sporting a recognizable rectangular shape:

As for the Power Splash, the park confirmed in an interview that something "very badass" will be coming to the park for its 30th anniversary in 2026. According to a local news report, the ride will be a "world's first" and cost €13 million, twice that of Dynamite.

Could it be that the Power Loop will be realised at last?

The game has changed, looks like it'll be an ART Engineering Wild Swing. That's some serious early bird construction if they really want to open this thing in 2025;

Some eagle eyed Coasterfriends users made an observation. So as it turns out, uhhh that water coaster layout that Cedar Fair posted about in a survey the other day kinda matches up with Plohn...

World's-first launched water coaster (suck it Catapult Falls), decent price tag, consistent docs for a Mack water coaster... think we've got our target.

Breaking News; Cedar Fair unwittingly leaks German coaster project

Sure looks like a match, now it's just whether that specific pitch will get built. Seems expensive for a (presumably tire-driven) launched water coaster, but it is Mack afterall.

Yeah there were probably a few different pitches, but if a vote for a “world-first” water coaster came down to this and a checks notes Looping Powersplash then I’d be more inclined to bet on this. 😜

Also knowing Mack they’d probably be using LSM’s on this. Mack Produkt, Mack Budget, ja?

Only nitpick really is under what circumstances would Cedar Fair have had access to this project? Would Mack have given someone’s final pitch to another client and even let them share it?

The only way I can see CF having that layout is the result of Plohn not buying that layout, Mack thinking 'hey this is still a cool concept, let's shop it', and it going around. Could be LSM launched, but that rendering looks like its got tires on it. Not that it really matters, would be a first either way.

Considering this, I reeeeeally need to know that Xtreme Spinner shuttle's original spot... it's just got such a COTALand aura to it and I'm so confident in that thought 🤣

Almost certainly that's what happened. It was an idea pitched for plohn that they didn't go for so there would be no issues shopping the idea around.

Seems like a cool model. This is gonna look really funky not having a proper drop in the pond.

The launched version could really be a good fit for those parks that can't build a lift due to tree height regulations etc
Be very interested to see if anymore get built in coming years
I was thinking this could be very good for parks where height could be an issue.

I believe the shortest water coaster is Poseidon at Europa Park at 75ft.

Hopefully could get to see a water coaster in the UK 🤩
