Dear Season Pass Holder,

We wanted to share our great news with you as soon as we could – our new ride for 2015 will be up and ready for you (subject to contract) on the very first day of the new season, which this year is March 29th. The fantastic, family thrill ride, the Zig Zag, is a hugely popular ride with young and old alike and we are confident it will be a favourite with our customers here at Pleasure Island. For those of you who are familiar with the park, the new addition will be located near to the Sea Lion Centre.

We also wanted to let you know about a fantastic pre season offer we will be running in a couple of weeks or so (March 9th – March 18th). You can purchase single entry tickets for just £11.50 each (normal rate £19.50). These tickets will be valid until June 28th 2015 only but can be used over Easter and the half term holiday at the end of May (May 23rd – May 31st). This will be the best offer available for this part of the season. Please note that this offer must close on March 18th. Tickets can be purchased by calling 01472 211511 (extension 221) but please note that orders cannot be taken on Sunday, March 15th.

As is normal, this winter has been a very busy one with lots of painting of rides and some cosmetic work done on various points around the park. If you do pay us a visit this year we hope that you spot these improvements.

As some of you may know, the firework event last year was a sell out – this year we have decided to hold the event on October 31st and embrace the Halloween theme. Again we are confident that the event will be a sell out so to avoid disappointment, we do advise that you purchase your tickets early.

We will keep you posted on all up and coming events as soon as we have the details confirmed. The Cleethorpes Blues Festival will be taking place again here on June 21st but the line up (which is always impressive) is yet to be completely confirmed so watch out for further information on that. For the most up to date information and for further promotions then please join us on facebook (facebook.com/dewarsaville).

Hope to welcome you to Pleasure Island some time soon.

Kind regards

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

Zig Zag? Sounds like another flat.

Coz that's just what they need.

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

Zig Zag used to be the name of the Twister/Scrambler ride at Flamingo Land, I appreciate that the two parks have long since parted ways but got a feeling that's what we'll see.

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

Got a e-mail through last night saying that the contract for the new ride fell through at the 11th hour, and they are trying to find a replacement.

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

Contract fell through = the cheque bounced.

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

Pleasure Island have purchased Sky Flyer from Flamingo Land.

Rumoured £250k.

So Flamingo Land put their entrance up by £2 and warrant it by selling an attraction but hey, they're getting white rhinos...!!!

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

You would be surprised how much things cost. Got to think of transporting it to the park. People to build the ride. Legal fees etc. All adds up really

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

^ Yeah - that's not actually that much for the ride. ADIPS have apparently raised their cost too :/

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

Yeah, it's a massive double inverting ship, £250,000 seems like good business if it's in good condition.

It's good for them to get another solid flat ride, but they need to start shipping out the old tired ones!

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

That thing must be upwards of 25 years old by now. Pretty sure it was at Flamingo Land when I visited as a kid.

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

The ride looked and sounded pretty old and tired when I was there two years ago. It's actually quite an unnerving ride because it felt like it could just fall a part at any minute.

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

Sounds like it'll suit PI perfectly then ;)

Seriously though, I do not get why they continue to add just ancient flat rides to the park... they have more than enough flats (probably the biggest selection in the UK?) for a park that small.

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

^ Because they're broke.

They want to be seen to be adding new attractions, but it seems like the only way they can currently afford to do it that is to buy cheap, second-hand rides.

Re: New ride at Pleasure Island (And special offers coming s

And there's nothing wrong with that IMO. I just don't get why they only seem to buy spin 'n' spew rides, they have enough already!

A Big Apple coaster, Reverchon spinner or a small travelling Log Flume would surely be better for them, and no doubt they could be picked up for the money they paid for this.

It joined Flamingo Land in 1994 along with the Waikiki Wave so pretty close.
