Never going there again!

It always surprises me to see reviews of parks saying something like:

I've been going to (park) several times a year now, since I was about 3, only this time ONE OF THE RIDES WAS BROKEN ALL DAY, I will never return as I feel cheated etc.etc...

It would have to be something BIG to make me not want to return, and that hasn't happened yet, so I was wondering:

Have you ever had a park trip so bad, you decided you would never go back?

(I'm not talking little parks with merely +1s, but parks you have visited multiple times and usually enjoy.

Parks are different for me, because I'm a cred whore, so if places that were **** got new creds I'd be inclined to go back haha! That said, Kings Dominion can go **** itself.

Oakwood and Lightwater Valley. Didn't really enjoy the majority of the rides there. Drayton Manor's a bit of a dump too, but I'd make the effort if they got a cred.

I can't think of any park I wouldn't ever go to again. Oakwood was a dump but at the end of the day Bobsleigh is fun, as is Megafobia, Speed, Treetops, Waterfall. I wouldn't go out of my way to go as it is a long way away but if I'm in the area then sure.

I've probably said it about a place when there because it pissed me off or whatever (think this happened with Pleasure Island but now I think about it they have a fun range of flats) but yeah, I don't feel I would 'never go to a park again'.

I dread returning to Flamingo Land or Camden Park, but if Camden Park ever got a decent coaster to film I would probably go back. It would take a lot more for me to return to Flamingo Land since Ian could film any new coasters they add.

Some places I don't plan on going to again unless they open a new coaster. Palace Playland in Maine comes to mind. It is so crappy and gross there is no point in going unless they get a new cred. Some other places aren't bad but they only have +1 coasters so same as Palace Playland, no point in going unless they get a new coaster. Places like Funworld in New Hampshire, Coney Island in Ohio, Santa's Village in New Hampshire, Yorks Wild Kingdom. It is pretty much all small parks with 1 or two +1 coasters. As for a major park nothing really I can think of.

I don't know.. I guess I'd give any park a second chance or whatever. Six Flags St. Louis comes to mind, my first visit in 2005 was so damn awful I was OK never going back. I did come-around and revisit the park some 8 years later (and +3 new coasters, and a 4th I had missed in 05) and while the day was much better than my first visit, I'm still in no rush to go back.
Michigan's Adventure would be another park I guess. Haven't been back in 10 years, they've only added 1 (used) coaster since, and it just wasn't a good park.

Not a fan of the heat?

There are good trips and bad. But a trip so bad that I would never return? That's a tall order.

The deeper question to answer is, given the choice of visiting an amusement park or not, what would you choose? I would choose the amusement park 9 times out of 10.

This might surprise some of you... but it would take something mega-special to make me go back to Knotts Berry Farm, even if I was in the area. I'd much rather have an extra day at Magic Mountain or Universal. Just had a really bad day there a few years ago, that's all - dirty, crowded, poorly operated, expensive, one-train operation on everything and on top of all that, Ghost Rider threw me a beating. Big time.

There are no parks that I've been to multiple times where one bad experience has made me not want to go back. I don't think many people would say that either; we're usually clued up enough to recognise a "bad day" at a park we usually like.

There are plenty of parks that I've been to just once that I'd happily not bother with again, new coasters notwithstanding of course. The "one bad day" thing doesn't apply as you've got nothing to compare it to, so it could be unfair I guess.

Anyway, I'm not going to mention any s**ty little parks that I've just gone to just to add to the count, or small parks that might not have much to offer, but some major parks I'd happily never go to again, not considering new or future additions and despite some of them having some great coasters, include:

Chessington
California's Great America
Carowinds
Joypolis
Legoland Florida
Legoland Malaysia
E-DA Theme Park
Bakken
Disney Paris Studios
M&Ds (ok so hardly major, but the most notable in Scotland at least)
Indiana Beach
Dorney
Kennywood
Six Flags New England

I would not go to some smaller parks unless they add a good new coaster. Faarup Sommerland, Holiday Park, Parque Warner, Sea World Orlando or Belantis come to mind.

Wonder why some dislike Bakken. I think an odd and quirky little park with a nice woodie, amazing spinner and some nice funfair flats. And they give you liters of beer at a bargain - visiting with friends we were so drunk returning to the city... :--D

Ooo Carowinds. Our only referesher was Top Gun, which was delightful. Fury 325 may only be slightly worth it.

I haven't been to Carowinds but from what everyone says and looking at the ride lineup it seems like a park that will help boost your coaster count but not much more. Some could probably argue for Intimidator being good along with Afterburn? I haven't ridden it but it doesn't look as bad as the rest of lineup.

^Afterburn is fantastic. That's it. The new coaster looks amazing though.

What Gavin said. Intrimidator is just that.. trimmed to death. Unlike many of the other good B&M Hypers, this one fails immensely to live up to expectations.

I think that park took an even bigger hit as we went to Dollywood the next day and it was majestic.

Nothing really stands out as being that bad. I guess SFA, but I didn't get all the creds, so I guess I'll have to go back.
