Mull Rally Trip October 2010

October 5th this year I went to the Isle of Mull, mainly for the Mull Rally 2010, but also the scenery. I have been a fan of Rallying since I can remember but have never had the chance to watch it live, so this year I did, such a rush watching all those cars racing around the Island both day and night, not all world rally clas, but a touch of the past with lots of MK 2 Escorts which I love and have owned 2 in the past, good back end slide because of the rear wheel drive. I took so many photos but couldn’t get them all here

Anyway this was the Scurtineering, held on Friday 7th Oct in Tobermory at the Distillery. The petrol fumes were high and so was the adrenalin for me, lots of lovely Rally cars to ogle over.

The start was held on the Friday night, each driver was interviewed so it took ages to get through 130 cars, the snell of the cars and the fumes were immense but to watch them all fly off across the car park to head for Salen for the racing start was great.

Saturday afternoon we went up past Dervaig to watch the Mishnish Stage it was on top of a small hill and the cars screeched past some tripodding as they went around the corner. Car 123 showered us with gravel it got so close, decided to moved back a tad but was so exciting.

Car 75 kept loosing bits after ending up on a boat on Friday night to flipping it's bonnet just before this photo was taken
