Okay so I started university yesterday and took a few pictures and whatnot, so here they are! Some of them are crooked but oh well.
Arriving at my residence.
Our theme is Avatar apparently.
View from my window into the Medway quad. The residence is all one but split into two buildings, Medway and Sydenham, both of which have their own courtyard.
I struggled to make the bed.
But eventually succeeded!
We're the only rez without an elevator.
The Medway gates.
My room is on the second floor in this pic. Forget which window, think it's second from the left.
It's the oldest rez on campus but still only from 1958.
Across the street is Elgin hall, a suite style residence.
The bridge is property of our residence.
It leads to the main part of campus.
The bridge goes over the Thames river.
Right across it is Delaware hall, home of the Sheep.
Way on the other side of campus is the Uni community centre where they have a movie theatre, a book store, a hair cutting place which I've heard is horrid, some clothes stores, restaurants, cafeterias, etc.
We also saw some other random buildings:
Until we got to the new 35 million dollar rec centre!
Above is the Health Sciences building where a lot of my classes will be.
Lots of green space.
Then I got back to my rez and checked out the cafeteria, which is inconveniently located in the Sydenham building. So if you want food later at night, you have to go through an endless maze of underground tunnels (not even kidding.. they're seriously endless and I got lost in them last night).
When my dad left, I finished doing my room up.
Then we had some activities/speakers/games in the quad. It felt like summercamp .
And here is our cheer!
Then there was a bonfire thing which ended up being kinda lame and I didn't feel good so I came back to my room and hungout with some people until going to bed.
The end. More to come tonight after opening ceremonies and such.
