Most Promising Manufacturers for the Future

Which manufacturers do you think are most promising for the future of coasters?

I think S&S are one to watch, what with the 4D coaster and the El Loco, I think they will become one of the main manufacturers in the future.
I have a feeling that B&M will slowly die out unless they come up with some new coaster types, same with Vekoma. (Although Vekoma's motorbike coasters could become popular)

Discuss.

Maybe, but not because of those models. They're niche types, not the kind of ride that will put them at the top of the industry.

Um, not sure I follow you there. Invert, floorless, flying, dive machine, and the now wing-rider... B&M's hallmark has been creating new viable designs, and ones that aren't gimmicks. They'll be fine.

Really, you think B&M will die out... One of the top coaster companies in the world...

Let alone the fact they released a new type of coaster this year of course...

As to who could actually make some progress in the future, I will say Mack (for building maybe a few more coasters on the scale of Blue Fire), and Gerstlauer (who are certainly seeing a rise in popularity for family coasters)...

Gerstaluer appear to be quite confident with their coasters nowadays.

I see mouse's point about B&M. They certainly won't "die out", but it'll be a few years until we see a new concept imo.

Intamin. Hmm. Where do they go with their coaster design? Hmm.

I'd say Mack. It seems to have taken them a while, but they've absolutely perfected the sit-down inverted coaster with Blue Fire. High throughput, beautiful, launched, lapbars and smooth. If they can apply the same formula to other types of coaster, I can see them easily becoming the world's top manufacturer. Who wouldn't love to see a Mack invert take on some of the more forceless B&M inverts of recently?!

B&M will forever be the best. Intamin is a contender but their rides brake down every 5 seconds. B&M is the highest quality manufacturer out there and i never tire of their rides!
apart from the main two, id also say gerstlauer im really liking their stuff now

S&S sort of missed their chance to be come bigger I think, considering the 3 El Locos are clones, they've only built one other 4D, and none of the 3 launch coaster they've built have really opened yet.

Personally I see Gerstlauer working their way up even higher on the list of active companies. Especially with the unique layout of Takabisha, who knows where they can go from there.

As far as S&S goes, I honestly see them dieing out within the next few years unless they do something drastic (not add another degree to a bloody drop). B&M will forever be around as they are of top quality. None of their rides have any major malfunctions, and im pretty certain a 4D concept will appear soon from them (seeing as how Raptor has had nothing reported that i know of issue wise). Intamin could very well be on the decline and may end up having to buy another company (Zierer?) or fix up ALL of their mechanical issues all their rides seem to have after opening (I305). Mack, not sure about them. If they get popular enough i can see them merging/buying Zierer and coming up with something of interesting. Gerstlauer is on the rise if Takabashi has anything to say about their ideas.

As for woodies, GG will definitely be around as will GCI cause they are basically the main companies to go with for good, quality rides. Add in the Timberliner trains and you may see a shift away from Millinium Flyers due to less cost, more room and steerable wheels that create less bouncy annoyingness. Not sure on who else is in the woodie race (giggity).

Have you ridden Blue Fire? It's utterly forceless compared to the B&M inverts! (I still think BF is good, but it sure isn't forcefull.. )

Intamin perhaps? Especially since they currently have the two tied number one woodies in the world!! (according to the mitch hawker poll)

Agreed, S&S looks promising with their new awesome launchers in China!
I have to add Powder Keg too since it looks like a very fun family ride and I've only heard rave reviews of it!

Have you been on a RECENT B&M invert...?

Blue Fire is a LOT more intense than say, Silver Bullet.

^I haven't been on Silver Bullet but I've been on Black Mamba (which is even newer) which was A LOT more intense then Blue Fire!

Yeah, Mamba's odd in that it's actually forceful, but, the majority of new Inverts, his point does stand against.

^Hmm ok I have to trust you on that one  I've only been on Nemesis, Inferno, Black Mamba and Katun. And I found all of them equally forceful, maybe with the exception of Inferno.

Have I missed something? Since when was Blue Fire an invert?

^Blue Fire is an ordinary sit down looper and I'm pretty sure no one have claimed it to be anything else..

I think he meant Inverting, rather than Inverted - slip of the fingers (now THAT'S got me into trouble before... ;) ).

That, a blatant mistake, which was then followed by everyone proceeding to compare Blue Fire to B&M inverts, which is just **** ing stupid.
