Most notable ride type / category you HAVEN'T ridden?

Mega Poster
I was looking at my coaster count, and I noticed something. My coaster count is currently 99, but despite having that number it turns out I have never ridden a relocated / 2nd hand coaster.

Every coaster I have been on was assembled at its original park at the time I rode it.

Furthermore, only one was relocated AFTER I rode it. All the rest were demolised or remain in action at their first park.

I've also never been on clasic Vekoma Boomerang (or even been in a park with one) despite them being so prevalent.

Are there any major coaster types / categories or ride which you've never done which are noteworthy?

Ooh, this is an interesting one! I’m not actually sure, to tell you the truth, so I’m going to have to resort to just reeling off a couple of examples off the top of my head, I’m afraid…

In terms of a common one I don’t yet have; to my memory, I haven’t yet ridden a classic Arrow or Vekoma sit-down looping coaster. I’ve done some closely related rides in the form of Revolution at BPB, Wipeout at Pleasurewood Hills and Rock’n’Rollercoaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but I don’t think I’ve actually ridden a single ride that falls under the umbrella of “traditional 80s-style Arrow or Vekoma sit-down looper with a lift hill” yet. I was unfortunately just a touch too young to do Corkscrew at Alton Towers… I first went in 2009, and I didn’t hit 1.2m until 2010.

I also haven’t done a single 4th dimension coaster yet, so there’s a whole seating position type I’m missing from my repertoire!

As with @Rob Coasters, I too am missing an alpine coaster.

This is a great question - and tough to answer off the top of my head.

After a bit of thought, a couple come to mind -
  • S&S Air Launch - they're highly regarded in terms of launch (and layout?), but all in places I've yet to visit.
  • B&M Surf Coaster - only one admittedly, but I'd argue that a B&M 'prototype' in one of the most popular parks in the world probably counts.
  • Jungle Mouse - god knows how many of these there are - thousands, I bet - but never done one.

I bet there's a load more, but I have now forgotten every type of roller coaster ever... :D

Seeing the above reminds me that I have also never done:

- an Alpine Coaster
- a Vekoma SLC (through deliberate choice admittedly)
- ANY coaster by S&S
- ANY coaster by RMC

This rcdb page literally has your onride photos from one, mate 😜

But yeah, for me, dunno. I feel that Gravity Group woodies might be the most notable thing that I'm missing? There's not a whole lot in Europe. Twister was down for maintenance when I went to Grona Lund and I haven't been to any of the three other parks that have one.

Wait... what?! :D :D :D

I think I have it my head that they all have this older track style:

Can cross that one off then. Yay...?

Not done any RMC coasters yet, but also no Vekoma Boomerangs as I've not been to a park with one in yet. The only one in the UK is pretty far from me in an area of the country I haven't been in for over 20 years when I got the brakeman credit at Great Yarmouth.

I've also done no alpines. I thought I might get one in Warsaw but since it was winter I realised it was closed before I got there, but that wasn't the focus of that holiday anyway.

Doesn't Steeplechase count as a single rail coaster?

If not, then... I haven't done one of those either.

Vekoma flying dutchman is high on my to do list for some ungodly reason.

A few off the top of my head...

-Hamster Wheel
-B&M surf coaster
-Old-school 4D coasters (ie X2, etc)
-S&S air launch
-Anything from Jinma Rides (aka Golden Horse)
