Found some time to do the PTR :)

Martyn and I ventured a junction up the M1 and down a duel-carriageway to get the credit we'd been after for a while, but had not been arsed to travel to get it - The Big Apple :D

It was quite unfortunate that we found out the night before that the Northampton Balloon Festival had been moved to Billing that week-end, so it was rather rammed. Plus, they were charging £10 for parking! So Martyn's mum parked in a very nearby pub car park for a measly £0.00 :)

We both jumped out and ventured over to what we had travelled for: the Big Apple.

After having a quick wonder round to see what else was on offer, we decided to go get our tokens (50p each, 3 for the Big Apple), only to find the person taking money and giving out tokens was a 8 year old with an ice-cream.

So instead we found a machine. I started putting in our money in and pressing for tokens one at a time. An additional one came out for nothing, so we only paid for 5 tokens between us, saving 25p each :)

I then noticed a young chap, who must have only been about 13, checking restraints on a balloon ride.

Over to the apple, which was being run by a mid-20s chav who took puffs on a fag every now and again. Standing in line like twallops, we managed to grab the back two rows for ourselves. The ride op made everybody else sit in two's but us.

After a 5 min wait, he finally dispatched the train.

I got stuck:

We got 3 circuits. We were satisfied.

Another quick look around, and we found a travelling KMG Experience. I was up for it at £3 but Martyn was a bit reluctant. A quick nudge, and he agreed to go with me.

The ride had rather painful laterals which meant the right side of your face was constantly in the restraint. Other than that, it was moderately fun and forceful at times.

We both felt slightly wonky after getting off, but walked back over to the car to go home.

On the way home, I started sweating rather quickly and feeling ill. I knew that these were the symptoms of fainting as I regularly faint. So I kept a level head and when we got out of the car, I started losing my vision and could not hear. I knew that I was seconds away from keeling over, but somehow managed to sit down in front of Martyn's garage.

With a little help getting in, I was sat down with a bucket, digestives and a glass of water. Soon my vision and hearing started coming back, but I made sure I didn't throw up:

Soon after, I felt fine and normal. The first ever ride that has ever made me feel ill in such a way :P

And that was Billing :)

Do you have to pay for parking if there isn't an event on? I'd be tempted to quickly whore this on the way up north for the Mumbos Live if there were no extra costs.

^ I don't think so. If so, there are free parking spots in the various pubs surrounding, about 2 min walk away from the credit.

The £10 parking seemed to be to park in a field anyway.

Tbh that car par isn't actually open most of the time. And the £10 was only for the balloon festival. Best bet Ian is to park in Billing Mill which is a 5 minute walk from the ride itself, and backs onto Billing Aquadrome.

And yeah, the pretty much employ anyone who can count to 10 and knows very basic English.

That went back in the mid-nineties.

Jordan, I know you'll get there one day :P And I have no idea what an Aquadrome is :? No dictionary definition, no internet definition...nothing...

Similar to an aerodrome only based around water? I know they have a lot of fishing lakes there and they do a bit of watersports in the summer. It's silly that I live 2 minutes away and yet I think I've been there less than some of you have :P
