Welcome to the first CF NoLimits Coaster Mini Challenge, this one is all about innovation. The challenge is really simple,
You should build a brand new type of "Inversion Element" that can't be found on any coaster today or before.
To do that just add it after the launch, you don't have to connect it back to the station or make it a shuttle coaster (you can just end it right after your "Inversion Element" is done.
We just want you to design a new type of "Inversion Element" that will be the next big thing in coaster designs of the future.

Competition Rules:
  • You (singular) have to use the track-file supplied with this post.
  • The track must be safe.
  • You may only use programs/tools that were included in the NoLimits Coaster package purchased at www.nolimitscoaster.com and any 3Ds objects you like to aid your building.
  • Send your finished track to: CFNLjudges@gmail.com and include your CF user name.
  • Your first entry is your final one.
  • Don't post anything that shows/hints your design, so that a fair Riders Choice vote can be held (if applicable).
  • You have until the 30:th of June to send in your track.

Design Requirements:
  • Coaster type Steel Looping Coaster (Modern).
  • You may only change the launch speed of the track between 80-100 km/h (50-62 mph).
  • No additional lift/launch.
  • 6 car trains.
  • It must be something new.

Scoring:

Each judge will award a maximum of 50 points divided in the following categories:
  • Construction quality 15 points
  • Excitement 10 points
  • Originality 15 points
  • Safety 10 points

For every violated design guideline a penalty of 5 points will be deducted from the judged score.
The winner will be decided by the combined score of the Judges and a Riders Choice Voting (if applicable) (Max 50+50+50=150 points).

Questions should be asked here in this topic (preferred), PM:ed to us to or mailed to CFNLjudges@gmail.com

Has the 'Inversion Element' got to be made up from a single inversion, or can the train invert multiple times?

Can we connect it back to the station with a simple layout just for fun, even if it won't gain any more points?

Feel free to invert the train multiple times, just like any Cobra-Roll, Roll-Over, N-Loop, etc. as long as it's one Element.

Sure if you want to, but I might remove it if there is a riders choice, but release it as the full track with the results.

Is it alright to make it a shuttle coaster? I know you said it doesn't have to be, but I like the feeling of complete in some sense.

^ As I said, you don't have to, but if you really want then ok...

I think I'm in for this one, should be something different and fun. However, I'm with the others I think I'll make mine a complete layout or shuttle.

Im in, do we have to put supports on the track or is it just as it is?

ey up folks! King Ant here, Post number 1!!!! Joined just so i could take part in this thing.. already got a couple of ideas, working on my first one just now :)

Using Nolimits 1.58 on the mac, so i wont be using any extra tools :P

edit: im going to make it into a full circuit, but have colour coded it. The lauch is yellow, the inversion is green, and the rest of the track (obv not getting marked) is in red.

^And now we know which track is yours. ;) Just make the whole track one colour, Loefet and I (and all the others in the riders choice) should be able to tell where your inversion ends.

Welcome to the forums and I wish you luck in the competition!

^Any time during that day is fine, as long as it says 30:th of June in the mail...

Just about to send mine in. Just going to send the track incomplete as I haven't had the time to support it all due to being busy earlier in the month, and as they are going to be incomplete in rider's choice I assume it won't matter. I am going to send the whole track in later so it can be released with the results. It's not fantastic mind, it's a little rushed.

^ Well I don't even have to look at the track to say that you win...

Since it's the only one I have received :(

Oh, :( that's a shame. There doesn't seem to be as many people on NoLimits regularly on here anymore, which is unfortunate as this seemed like a cool little comp. I think I'm going to finish the whole track and release it anyway.

I do love the competitions, I just work on them for a while and completely forget about them due to other commitments.

It's a real shame as we used to have a really active No Limits community on here, and it seems to have dwindled of late.
