Little kittens!!! Without their mommy :(

Ok, lets start with this, that our cat got hit by a car last week. Since she was an outside cat she kept her kittens well hidden, after a day (on Friday) we found that they were on neighbours old barn. Firstly we only found one kitten, which was meowing a lot, and then we took care for him. But today we found out that there are 2 more kittens on the barn. Since it already passed 5 days since the cat passed away, I'm wondering if they were really our cat's. So the main question is how long can kittens live without any water or food? If anybody here knows...
 
Depending on the age of them tbh. If they are new then 2 days without milk.

Didn't mean that, they've already been without any food or water for 5 days, most probably...
 
When the barn is closed, are they dead or not?

Seriously though, just take them in and help them. Maybe put a notice on the barn saying "found two kittens"? It's not rocket science and it doesn't matter who they belong to.
 
Surely if they're with a cat it's fine, if not then take them. The cat won't ever been too far from the kittens.
