The left hand side has completely gone.

Hopefully by the same company that bought Dynamo from Alton and totally pimped it.

Not that much pimping could be done to such an awful looking ride.

His name is Collin Buwalda. I know he has a Wild Mouse and Log Flume, don't know about Dynamo though.

The ride was completely removed by lunchtime today (Thursday).

Update from Wednesday afternoon;

All that is left of the ride.

And that ladies and gentlemen is the last you'll see of Grizzly Bear at Lightwater Valley! The wooden bears that surrounded the ride have been jetwashed and will placed elsewhere in the park as theming.

Valley Mania will be covering the construction of the new ride, Wild River Rapids, and I will continue to post updates on this website for people who are interested. :)

Nice photos. I'm not upset to see it go. I've been on it once, that was enough.

I'm amazed how quickly it was dismantled. I'm vaguely interested in the rapids but not wetting myself. Lets hope it's a good investment for the park.

Thanks for the updates!

Not sad to see this going but never got round to getting the credit. I was going to get it at the Live. :(

Mellors arrived on site today and began work on Wild River Rapids. At the minute they are putting in the base frame for the ride and just starting to put the panels on.

Parts of the ride on the trailer.

The ride structure should be pretty much nearly complete tomorrow. The following days will see ride testing and any other ancillary works.

Thanks to Angela Marshall of Lightwater Valley for the photos.

I have been informed that the ride will initially stay at the park for the 2009 season only. Depending on ride performance, such as reliability and guest satisfaction, it could be extended to a further season or even two.

The construction is happening at rapid pace (excuse the pun), with the ride expected to pretty much done by tomorrow afternoon.

I was thinking WOW this is going up quick, then I realised it's a travelling ride course it is going up fast.

Am I the only one who's really sad to see it go? The Grizzly Bear was one of my first coasters and was one of my favourite rides at Lightwater. I can't believe it's gone! :(

^ That's sentimental feelings rather than realistic feeling!

^^ Same here too Kat, it was actually my 100th coaster. Both my 100th ever coaster and my 100th Steel Coaster have been taken away this year!

Argh! Not traveling rapids nasty things!

The ride structure should be complete by now (Wednesday evening). Any other jobs and electrical work will be done tomorrow and Friday.

The ride will be filled with water sometime next week ready for testing.

A closer look from The Ultimate.

I'm disappointed that the palm trees have made it, I think they look tacky in all honesty.

I've never ridden one, so can't comment on that, but it looks hideous.

They quick, simple fun Gavin. Nothing really noteworthy, but a bit of a giggle if you're with the right people...

Yes, it does look hideous though :)
