Welcome to the second NoLimits Coaster competition of 2010. With several rumours that a B&M launched coaster is in the works, a park have contacted the designers at CoasterForce to come up with a design for a B&M launched coaster to replace their aging Arrow Loop & Corkscrew coaster. The requirements is that it should fit in the same area, have more inversions and that would have a capacity similar to the old ride.
They have recieved a planning permission to build up to 30 meters on the site and they have already decide on a station/launch location that fits the surrounding area.
To help the designers then they have made a template with the space marked out and the station and launch placed.
So good luck to everyone and have a fun build!!

Competition Rules:
  • You (singular) have to use the track-file supplied with this post.
  • The track must be safe and efficient.
  • You may only use programs/tools that were included in the NoLimits Coaster package purchased at www.nolimitscoaster.com and any 3Ds objects you like to aid your building.
  • Send your finished track to: CFNLjudges@gmail.com
  • Don't post anything that shows/hints your design, so that a fair Riders Choice vote can be held.
  • You have until the 9:th of May 2010 23:59 GMT to send in your track.

Design Requirements:
  • Coaster type B&M sitdown (Twisted Steel Sitdown).
  • Nothing may be built outside the boundary.
  • May not change the supplied track (only timings on the station).
  • No aditional lift/launch.
  • 6 car trains.
  • More than 3 inversions.

Scoring:

Each judge will award a maximum of 50 points devided in the following categories:
  • Construction quality 20 points
  • Excitement 10 points
  • Originality 10 points
  • Safety 10 points
For every violated design guideline a penalty of 5 points will be deducted from the judged score.
The winner will be decided by the combined score of the Judges and a Riders Choice Voting (Max 50+50+50=150 points).

Questions should be asked here in this topic (preferred), PM:ed to us to or mailed to CFNLjudges@gmail.com

I was thinking of a launch comp before, and lo and behold...

Great idea for a competition, sign me up right away!

I'm in.

As in, I'll try to come up with something, and actually finish it this time. I was away the last week of the previous competition, and couldn't finish the design in time.

^^ Dave is right, everything must be inside when viewed in the editor (it's hard to judge in the simulator, and the sizes change depending on tube sizes in the simulator).

If anyone have doubts that a coaster will work in this area, I have made one that works fine. It will be entered in the riders choice, but be left out of the competition...
