La Vibora (SFOT) closure

As reported here by @TPoseOnTantrum , Six Flags Over Texas have reportedly closed La Vibora, it's already showing as "removed" on rcdb:
It originally opened at Magic Mountain in 1984 and is the last of the five Intamin Swiss bobs in the World. I suppose a relocation is not impossible but seems unlikely for such an old ride.
They may be closing the super loop El Diablo too.

Well, that sucks. Perhaps I should've gone and ridden Bob at Efteling before that bit the dust. Always wanted to try one of these.

I loved Bob when that was at Efteling but I understand these are a pain to maintain, I'll just miss this ride style as I despise the Mack bobsleds. Maybe Flying Turns is the shining ray of light in that style of ride if I ever get to ride that.

I should probably step in with more juice :)

Park admin has a good bridge with the local fanbase when it comes to transparency, this is what was shared;

There were a bunch of survey markers sighted recently around El Diablo, and they looked serious;

Anyways it seems like we're all prepped for a solid construction project in the months ahead, opening right on time to compete with the nearby Universal Kids Resort. This is a pretty good plot of land to work with, my instinct would be a B&M dive machine but there's always other options;

That seems like a solid guess, with no other info available at the moment.

It's always been mildly surprising to me how few B&Ms SFOT has (1) compared to the other major market legacy SF parks: SFGAdv (5), SFGAm (5), SFMM (4), SFOG (4).

Well was poking around my archives this evening and remembered that Over Texas had jumped on the survey bandwagon back in August.

Three ideas, all apart of a common roster that Cedar Fair leadership is hooked on for some reason; a indoor/outdoor dark ride coaster, Zamperla family thrill coaster, and B&M Giga Dive. Everything had already been proposed for their other parks.

Probably won't have too much weight on the final product, but it's a little reminder of who's holding the reigns now. We're staring down the timeframe of post-merger Six Flags projects, now having the shots called by new leadership and Cedar Fair decision making.

Whatever this is will also be competing with the brand new Universal Kids Resort in town that year, so not expecting them to go light either.

Honestly, I'm shocked that ride lasted as long as it did. It's 40 years old, and being so unique has got to be difficult to maintain.

Especially given its awful capacity/throughput.

@TPoseOnTantrum leaned towards a B&M Dive and I think that's right unfortunately as a coaster enthusiast. Over Texas badly needs an elite coaster and not what an entitled coaster enthusiast (me) would call another supporting coaster. Hoping for a Tilt Coaster from Vekoma, a launch from Intamin or a RMC T-Rex but I'm not holding my breath.
