Absolutely epic day at Hocus Pocus!
Such a great event and the park looks amazing throughout the Halloween period
Was gutted to find out the night before that Vampire was likely to be closed but well done to the Chessington team who got it up and running, wouldn't have been Halloween without a go on Vampire in the dark!
The park was also really quiet due to weather but it did make me realise how weak Chessington's infrastructure currently is.
For example the south car park is just embarrassing, car's slipping all over the place and extremely muddy clothes by the time you make it back to the car.
Toilets is another thing in desperate need of improvement, when a 4 year springs it on you he's desperate for a no.2 you know you've only got seconds to spare... Having to run around the park looking for a toilet without a huge queue is NOT helpful. It took trips to 4 different toilets before we found somewhere, just in time...
And bear in mind this was on a day which was fairly quiet.
Thankfully the 2 above points are being sorted out this closed season, the next couple aren't.
Chessington's rides are too heavily affected by adverse weather. Dragon's Fury for example can only run 2 adults per car in rain, this makes the throughput diabolical. Same situation with Rattlesnake. And if, like 2 days ago, Vampire is down, the park can pretty much spontaneously combust.
Will try and keep the talk short and just give you a ride count before a ton of pictures
2x Griffins
3x Vampire
3x Dragons Fury
2x Kobra
1 x Tomb
6 x Runaway (at least 4 circuits on each! )
2x Rattlesnake
1x Buccaneer
1x Black Forest Haunt
1x Hocus Pocus Hall bewitched
The highlight of the day was the last half am hour the park was open and just staying on the Runaway Train with the best, funniest ride staff, ever.
Sea Dragon's has a plug!
Tower of Terror, step aside, this was the scariest experience of my life.
I wish I could say I was joking
Witches!
Runaway, never usually do it to be honest, but the last half an hour on it was one of my best theme park moments ever.
Kobra with a 5 minute queue at about 5/6 , unbelievable I know
Buccaneer looked amazing... The lighting at the park was great this year.
Was gutted not to get a better picture of then tunnel as it looked phenomenal.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures
It was a great trip and a fantastic end to the year.
