Hansa Park has announced that their Super Splash ride (a guest favorite) will be undergoing major construction throughout the year to add a theme to the ride. The ride itself is not scheduled to be closed at any time due to the construction.
Construction will begin with a fake rock cliff around the end brake run area. The end result after construction will have the boats drop through a 'historic' shipwreck into the sea. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2013.
The park is also adding a jungle kiddie playground for all those under 1.4 meters called Tahiti–Trail. It's themed around the travels of Georg Forster, the German ethnologist who at an early age accompanied his father on several scientific expeditions, including James Cook's second voyage to the Pacific.
Concept art:
An indoor themed kiddie play area will also open this summer called Das Reich der Trolle (Empire of the Trolls) in the HANSE in EUROPA section of the park. The theme will be set around the Norwegian stories & myths of the little mountain dwellers.
Concept art for the attraction entrance:
Also for the kids is the new driving simulators in the play area surrounding the Pirate Ship. The simulators will have large monitors, steering wheels & a set of four pedals to accommodate kids of various sizes. The "tremendously fast & exciting" race course will last 90 seconds.
My favorite addition for 2012 is the new HD webcam that can be viewed from the park website homepage that will not only let you know what the weather is like at the park, but also just how busy it is at any time on any given day.
