Gullivers World - Expansion (or not)

A friend of mine posted a facebook link to the "Save Sankey Park" action group (HERE), curious as to what that was, I followed it through and turns out its a park that Gullivers World in Warrington were trying to expand into!

But the recent news HERE being that its been turned down by the council - but it was a plan from 2009 apparently.

Surfing around there I came across this (HERE) blog post from one of the anti-theme park nimbys which made me laugh;

when I moved to the Callands area the business operating adjacent to Sankey Valley park / residential properties, was called a "Childrens Adventure Playground" by the owners. Designed for small toddlers to enjoy a day out in what is called Gullivers World. I've never been to the park myself but it was noiseless and none invasive and socially acceptable to the residents.

Subsequently and suddenly the business decided to change its strategy and opt for what has now become, Roller Coaster World.

- so apparently the place is "roller coaster world" and they would do much better with a Japanese garden (see the blog) than a theme park near his house (has he ever been to Japan, they stuff their coasters in all over the shop, fool!).

Fair enough, you might not want to live next to an amusement park... but why buy a house near one and then complain?


So the news is that there is no news I guess.
