At Mall of America there's a Gerstlauer Sky Fly called Teenage Mutant Turtles Shell Shock. Riders control two wings in order to make the car spin.

EastCoast(er) General/Jerry recently visited to film it, you HAVE To watch this offirde video from 2:05 to see Jerry go mental (he's front-left as you look at it). Everybody else is rocking gently but Jerry is owning it. Made me laugh at 8am this morning!

Here's an onride.

Jerry you mentalist! Just watching the POV made me feel nauseous!

Vom.

I did the one which is at Belantis in Germany. I don't get off many rides feeling sick, but I had to sit down for a few minutes afterwards.

Rofl that's awesome. Saw him start to rock a bit and thought yeah, bit much, then when he's just continually spinning whilst everybody else is stationary looks awesome

Hahaha, talking of the one in Germany, here's one of UC bossing it with Jerry filming from the car behind. Mega spin! I counted 91 spins!

When I was stood there filming there was a guy taking photos from the same balcony/viewing platform. Him and his wife/girlfriend just stood there uttering swear words about how crazy Jerry was. It was hard for me not to laugh at them actually!

It was a good effort on Jerry's part too, I only got mine to flip a few times.

Jesus christ UC how did you manage not to get sick doing that? That's just hilarious how intense they're making it compared to everyone else who's rather tame (for both vids)

That is just **** ridiculous!

How was there not a trail of vom? I couldn't cope with that at all.

I do think something like this would go down a storm in a place like Thorpe or even Alton.

I was waiting. And waiting. And waiting for him to stop spinning and he just kept going. Stomach of steel.

How did I miss this topic? :?
It would be great in more parks would add these rides to their lineups, especially the Sky Roller since it's much more intense that the Sky Fly. However the Sky Fly is a lot easier to get rotating - you can actually do it within seconds of the ride start, whereas the Sky Roller takes a few minutes to get going (after it reaches the top).
Of course no one has to take it to the extreme like UC & I did, but we were having a contest on who could make it spin the most. I can't begin to tell you just how hard it is to keep rotating the entire time, even though it isn't that hard to actually get the ride rotating. It feels like you are strapped to an airplane propeller & after a while you just can't hold the wings in that position anymore. It's not a matter of strength, but a matter of will & your brain just keeps telling your hands to let go of the grips so that the damn thing will stop spinning. UC said that he could still feel the ride days after he rode it.
I barely won the bet, but I had been on Gotterflug four times prior to our wager & he had only ridden it once before I filmed him. He got it to spin 91 times & I rotated 96 times. Here is the video UC filmed of one of my rides. I didn't get as many spins as I normally do because this is the only time I've rotated counter-clockwise. My record is 104 rotations, which I did in 2009 with Aidan (who was too small at the time to get it spinning).

That's incredible, but I felt a bit sick just watching it, not a fan of anything that spins too much.

Still looks like a great ride though, even if you were just to go round rocking gently.
