Food Loop restaurant

My friend told me about this last night and I almost cried with excitement.
It's Europa Park's new 'looping restaurant' called Food Loop, where your food comes to your table via a looping coaster track. Just OMFG!

(tried searching and I don't think anyone's mentioned it before)

There's another restaurant somewhere in Europe like this as well. Can't remember where it is but I remember seeing a Youtube video about it and how it all worked etc.
It's a cool idea but after the first time will lose it's excitement. Plus I bet they charge you a fair bit more just for the novelty.

^I think the other one is in Germany somewhere as well.

And I'd probably go if it was not too expensive. And surely the beer just gets shook up <//3

The other one's in Hamburg and god dammit I'm gonna find it and go there...

Novelty yes, but hey, bit different...

Europa's loop amuses me though... Doubt drinks will go through it as I remember vaguely watching a interview about the one in Hamburg opening and them saying that they do deliver certain items to you 'normally'...

Amazing! I'd go for the novelty! Surely the food will be a bit messed up by the time it arrives at the table? But still, worth a giggle!

^To be fair, they've probably thought of a way of doing it so that the food and drink gets to you not all messed up, otherwise that's just extremely bad design and a completely pointless gimmick isn't it?

Looks pretty cool though, I did a little squeal of joy whilst watching the videos =]

Really hope parents pick up on the 'I want to go to Europa Park for my 21st birthday' hints I've been dropping ;]

I've got a feeling I saw a video years ago about somewhere in Asia doing something similar (don't think they looped). However it looks awesome and I want to go! :P

I once went to a restaurant in Dublin where they came and took your order, then delivered the slip to the kitchen via a system of pulleys and stuff across the ceiling. That was cool, but not a patch on this.

A gimmick, yes... but a good one methinks.

Nice little documentary on Hamburg's one... Expect part of my TR to feature this ;)

With portions that size I wonder what they're kids meals are like? Either it's very filling food or I might complain that after a 3 three course meal I'm still hungry. :P

We were at Europa Park last week and were both very impressed with Food Loop. It is a great experience especially if you are sat at one of the looping tables. We could not believe some of items they were sending down the loop even milkshake type drinks in open topped tall glasses. And the food was good too! We definitely recommend it and think someone should open one in London.

Ohh I really hope they do!! It's just what London needs!
I guess it's like the water in the bucket over your head principle. Enough speed and nothing falls out.
