Flamingo Land: Event 22nd August

Yesterday I received an email from Flamingo Land with information on this.
Quite a few tribute bands/solos.
Tynchy Stryder headlining.
Best of all this is FREE with a park entrance ticket.

How can a small family park like this offer something like this yet Merlin can't throw a summer event very well without upcharge.

Flamingo Land when I visited was a lot better since I last visited with CF a good few years back. Much better staff, throughputs, food.

Staff was the biggest improvement when I last visited too.

It's a good thing they've put on without including an upcharge too but Tinchy Stryder is no biggy. Tinchy performed at Middlesbrough College a couple years ago :/

Do Alton Towers charge extra for their Party in the Park? Didn't think they did.

Staff have improved? Jesus. I would hate to think what they used to be like.

My "first" real experience of Flamingoland in July was one of the my worst ever days out.

^ In fairness, I visited on a cold, wet day in June and there was literally no queues for anything so they were probably just happy to see people when we approached. I never visit FL in the summer because when it's too busy they don't have the operational side of things worked out to manage queues leading to irate customers, long waits and tetchy staff.

Just looked on their website, they're open until 7.00pm today which is later than they advertise (opening times state 4.00pm, 5.00pm or 6.00pm dependent on time of season). Maybe they've realised that's the only way they can get people to enjoy the park by extending the hours (rather than sorting the throughout of every single ride out).

Edit: Out of curiosity I checked Kumali's throughput on RCDB. Apparently it's 1,125 riders per hour. A Kumali train hold's 20 people. That's just over 56 trains dispatched within an hour - I reckon they probably hit about 8 - 10.

My first visit was similar. Midweek in sept, everything open with no bugger around! Brilliant day out!

But last month, well, 60 coaches in the car park certainly didn't help. Though to be fair, it wouldn't have been SO bad if they were running things at full capacity. Mumbo and Hero both had full queue lanes, but they both had a car sitting on the transfer track!

The staff on Kumali were just **** ing useless (which was a running theme that day). And this girl on Velocity was just gob smackingly rude to guests.

Lets just say it was a good job the fast passes were cheap! (But in saying that, they dont have the capacity or capability to cope with a fast pass queue)

Whatever it is, well done Flamingoland for offering a free event so people can enjoy Velocity, Mumbo Jumbo and Cliffhanger. Three of the fabbest best rides in the UK IMO.

I just want to take this chance to point out Flamingo Land is vile.

We went a couple of weeks ago and it was even worse than it was when I went a few years ago. What a hole.
