Instead of saying what rides we did in order (the boring stuff), I will just add the highlights and stuff going on in the land of Thorpe.
After a few rides, I went over to Saw and noticed it was closed. It was just re-opening when we got there. After going around on it we noticed Brendan Walker in the CCR area, with a film crew.
Gareth from marketing spotted us, of which we had a chat with for a while. Was nice to meet again. Found out why Saw was closed this morning. It was due to this filming on the ride. Caused the ride to be only running 6 cars, but later 7.
Unexpectedly, a train went around while standing there on the crossing!
Then on the move...
After that we desided to follow and watch for the next 90 mins. They filmed right next to us so its highly likely we are in the footage in the background.
*More info later in the TR on Events and TV times.
Now after an eventful time, we had KFC. Decided to sit right next to a large stealth speaker, of which made the food vibrate constantly while eating it! How fun!
We also noticed the dancers infront of us. Fungineers.
Very good. In theme aswell.
The park was very busy and HOT. Very hot. So ride counts are low today!
After a few hours of rides we saw Jaz, of which used to work there for the last few seasons. Got us a quick ride on Stealth via the exit. Nice!
Now Colossus was the only thing without a queue so I went around 4 times in about half hour. I am on THIS train row 13. Beanz took piccy.
Knackered, we decided Saw was the the last ride to do. It was running on low capacity... to are delight, this ment we would be queueing still when it got dark. This got us quite excited!

Queue getting Darker
Over PA "Jess, your so small you should be on a farm...or farmville" lol.

All I can say is its totaly different in the dark. No light coming in the fasttrack or walls meaning you could get the full effect of the queue and ride. It does feel a whole lot more errie. You can actually see the bathroom scene! And you cant see the track outside. No lights in the way. Running very smoothly, it became my favourite night ride at the park!
*So just to add:
- Look out for Saw on "BBC Fastrack" on the 30th / 31st of August. Don't know a time yet. We assume BBC Worldwide.
- Look out for Saw on the "Bang goes the theory" program at 7.30pm August 24th on BBC 1.
- Thorpe Blast isn't happening at all. Its canceled. They didn't like the idea of it ether. I guess they dont get the final say though.
- £2 Pre-book for all the Fright Nights. Including the low gate figure days.
I'll cap off with dark shots of Colossus & Saw.
Didn't get any further shots of Colossus. But I personally think it looks stunning in the dark with the green and purple lights. I'd like to see Saw with some reds and greens. The white lights kill the scaryness slightly.
Great day. Enjoy.
