Favorite Mine Train

What is your =favorite mine train in the world? Mine is Gig Grizzly Mountain at Hong Kong Disneyland. Beast ride. It can be in the world, or in the US. Just remember, you don't have to have ridden it to like it! Feel free to post a list. Mine is:

1. Big Grizzly Mountain, Hong Kong, Disneyland
2. Mammut: Gardaland
3. Gran Montserrat, parque espana, japan
4. Dragon in snowfield, happy valley, china
5. Colorado adventure, phantasialand

Whats yours?

Top of my head, the only three I can recall riding are Runaway Mine Train at Alton, Buffalo Coaster at Drayton and El Diablo (I think) at Port Aventura.

RMT wins by a country mile, got a soft spot for it.

Buffalo Coaster seems unremarkable but it's been years since I last went.

El Diablo, or lift hill:the ride was one of the worst rides I think I've ever been on.

Don't mind my sig, but I've ridden Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Thunder Mountain at WDW and I like Thunder Mountain better even though they both are terrible.

I actually really liked Eagles: Life in the Fast Lane, the Vekoma mine train they had at Hard Rock Park.

Other than that, I've just done a handful of Arrows. Runaway Mine Train at SFGAdv was probably the best of those.

* Fixed :wink:

It's a bit like asking me "what is your favourite type of fish to eat?"

Well, I like fish, but fish all taste pretty much the same - of fish. Some have more bones in than others, but beyond that, they're all just fish.

However, Big Thunder Mountain at DLRP is the most wonderfully presented fish ever, with bows and ribbons and everything. Stinks of fish, but looks great.

RMT at Alton is fish with a dash of Tabasco sauce. Fishy, but with a sudden spicy bit.

The rest are all boiled for three hours until they barely taste of fish at all. The one at Port Aventura is triple boiled.

None come with a side order of garden peas, so they're all rubbish.

They don't. Unflavoured, fish all taste primarily of fish. Some are slightly more fishy than others, but they all have the same basic flavour.

Try it out.

Describe to me what the following taste like:

1. Tuna
2. Cod
3. Mackerel
4. Salmon

The answer would be:

1. Meaty fish
2. Soft and wussy fish
3. Strong fish
4. Fish that pretends to be posh but will beat you up for supporting Celtic instead of Rangers - or vice versa.

;)

furie, I think that is the first time I've ever disagreed with you (or ever agreed with Joey ;p).
Fish taste wildly different!

Describe meats by taste which arent fish, then. :p you've described textual differences, taste us hard to explain.

Mackrel is strong, oily and got that slightly rancid aftertaste of awesome.

Salmon is a delicate flavour... Er, would've even describe it as fishy.

Tuna is meaty, but in a mild way. It's the beef of the sea for sure, boring.

Hadlock, cod and similar are all really really similar, but so are most farm fowl.

Big Thunder Mountain, Disneyland Paris.
Not only is it my favourite mine train, its also my favourite roller coaster of all time. I just love the whole experience and that end tunnel is amazing!

I really want to ride: Big Grizzly Mountain, Hong Kong Disneyland. It looks so good!

Do they, or do they not taste of fish?

If you put salmon in your mouth, is not the first thought "fish"? If you put tuna in your mouth, is your first thought not "fish"?

They all taste of differing fish flavours, but they all taste of fish. You can smell that they're fish, you can taste that they're fish. It's a distinctive thing that is common to all edible fish.

There are variations (a Vekoma mine train is certainly not the same as a Mack or Arrow), but essentially, they all do the same thing. Mine Trains smell and taste of fish. Some strong, some weak, some meaty, some flaky, but fish! Mine Trains are the fish of the coaster world!

It's not like potatoes, which are a bland food flavour and require other ingredients to make them taste of anything at all - which also come in many forms and could be used in such an analogy. Intamin launch coasters are the potato of the coaster world!

Even the experts agree, fish tastes of fish. I can't see why this is a shock? :p

And then you have almost sweet milky textures of things like Whiting or Plaice - great on the BBQ.

I'm not usually a fan of really strong flavors like Herring and Mackerel, but river fish can have some really interesting flavors.

Also, I've started eating Pollock instead of cod if I can get it - it's so much nicer
