Fantasy Island to get a scare maze for next year...

Mushroom

Goon of the Year
I couldn't be bothered to post this yesterday, but it looks like Fantasy Island are getting a scare maze for 2012 called The Asylum

Well i go to skegness every year, So this is good news for me considering i go to fantasy island when i'm there. I have no idea where this could go though, maybe it's a dark ride ?

I know that the poster's all scary, but, does that actually mean they're getting a scare maze?

I agree, it could easily be a dark ride. Or a mis-marketed play barn.

If it is a Scare Maze then they've gone for the **** and easiest option for one. Because we've never seen an Asylum themed maze before have we....

I really doubt it will be a scare maze. They're iffy with operation the water slide because it requires 3 ride ops...

I would say something like a retheme for one of the dark rides would be a possiblity.

They're also getting some kind of Splash Zone attraction, which is likely to be similar to what one of the Gullivers parks have.

Its kinda odd really, they have that poll on their website, asking what you'd like to see new for next year; Haunted House, Swimming Pool or new ride. New ride is winning, yet so far, they are getting the two loosing options! BUT, whatever, its just good to see FI interested in adding new stuff again, its been a while....

Bloody hand prints on a crosswire fence? That's a first. This attraction will be a-maze-ing.

I really can't believe that all-year round scare attractions are popular, if that's what it is. I know there are fanboys like Lofty and Ollie, but if the park has done their research and it's viable for them, bring it on.

However, I didn't bother with Saw Alive at Thorpe for about a year after it opened so there's no chance in hell I'd drive a 420mile round trip for it.

That's an original name/theme.

Oh well, let's hope that they actually make the effort to re-theme the ride.

Will it be able to operate in high winds?

Not if you follow through ;)

Maybe it's actually a place to keep all the inbred people who inhabit the market. To be fair, the market is much scarier than any Scare Maze I've ever been in. If it's got wife-beater in the title, it's at the market...
