Euthanasia coaster

CF Legend
“Euthanasia Coaster” is a hypothetical euthanasia machine in the form of a roller coaster engineered to humanely – with elegance and euphoria – take the life of a human being. Riding the coaster’s track, the rider is subjected to a series of intensive motion elements that induce various unique experiences: from euphoria to thrill, and from tunnel vision to loss of consciousness, and, eventually, death. Thanks to the marriage of the advanced cross-disciplinary research in aeronautics/space medicine, mechanical engineering, material technologies and, of course, gravity, the fatal journey is made pleasing, elegant and meaningful. Celebrating the limits of the human body, this ‘kinetic sculpture’ is in fact the ultimate roller coaster: John Allen, former president of the famed Philadelphia Toboggan Company, once said that “the ultimate roller coaster is built when you send out twenty-four people and they all come back dead. This could be done, you know."

Just came across this whilst having a browse on the internet.

Hey, if I wanted to go, this is the way I'd want to do it!

Lol. "Coming to Thorpe Park 2014"....

"O Ma GOD CHELSEA- THAT LOOKS FACKIN SICK MAN!" "YEAH CLAYTON, THATS LOOKS FAKIN PHAT!"

Tussauds- helping keep levels of chav scum down.

Hmm... bit much I guess.

Will it count as a credit if you die before completing the circuit?

also do you add it to your coaster counter before you ride it? cos its too late to add it after ;-)

Mark of course - it's his job ;-)

Well I suppose we should give him a let out clause - as long as he replies to this topic by 8pm tonight he can get out of the contract.

I always said when I died I'd want it to be something sudden, like on a coaster or something, haha.

This would be fab, if I ever wanted to commit suicide! Which, I don't, but you never know, I might turn emo someday or something.

Bazpa is AMAZING! <3

Simply stunning Bazpa! Awesome! <3

The theory behind this is quite fun. Whilst it wouldn't be built for a theme park, I've got WONDERFUL visions of a 400ft monster of metal spouting from Dignitas's HQ. :p

As long as you get a POV, we're happy. :)

Hey all, long time reader first time poster. Just done a quick bit of research into this and found, well a "layout"...

http://dvice.com/archives/2011/04/the-euthanasia.php

It's like a love child of the new Fuji-Q coaster and that hot wheels track set you had as a kid! As much as I would love to have a POV, this somewhat simple layout seems too... Um, Boring to be a last ever ride! (even if it is doing 300mph  )

EDIT: Dark thought but, on ride photos could be somewhat interesting

That might be the best way to die ever.

It looks like a "my first coaster" in No Limits

I really dont think this coaster is necessary.... Just imagine a reasonably old Vekoma SLC in 10 years time, the roughness would be unbearable and would be sure to cause a brain hemorrhage :p

It sounds about as realistic and do-able as a perpetual motion machine.
"Hypothetical" sums up this idea perfectly really.

^ Hello Mr cynical! Why would it not be doable? The amount of effort that has to go into making a ride not painful/uncomfortable surely suggests that it is doable.

^I don't really think it's making it rough etc that's the problem. It's the ludicrous layout that is the problem.

That's what I meant (sorry, didn't explain it very well). I meant 'uncomfortable/painful' as in passing out due to high g's not bone shaking roughness.
