Yes, I don't really think it's needed this day and age.

That is all. :)

I don't think it's needed nowadays.

I also hate this 'lose one hours sleep' buisness, it's not like the hour is lost in a time-vortex....

I always though DST was there because 1 day isn't Exactly 24 hours and would eventually fall out of sync. Then again that was only a random assumption...

No... We put it back again later in the year Kim

There's a campaign over here at the moment for SDST (single double summer time).

The idea there is that over the weekend, we'd have put our clocks forward two hours. Then in October, back just one. So in the summer we'd be two ahead compared to now and in the winter one ahead.

It's all based on accident statistics, but I'm not massively convinced. Certainly the road fatalities are lower when we move to daylight savings. However, the actual move between the two causes accidents and non-fatal accidents increase a lot for the two or three days after the move. Personally, I would prefer just to sit on the same time all year round. Statistically there's a chance SDST could save a handful of lives a year though. I hate statistics though

Leave it at DST all year round. Can't stand the sun going down at 4pm in December.
But in Manchester, doing that would mean the sun wouldn't rise till 9.01 am (on the winter solstice)
Having the sun go down at 4pm is obviously a pain, but its not like having it come up later than 8am is any more practical.

It's not too bad in Spring when I only have to press the +1 hour button once. It's a bugger in the Autumn when I have to press it 23 times, or hold it down for 10 seconds. Therefore in theory, when we put the clocks back, we don't gain an hour but actually 59 mins and 50seconds.

I like light evenings and dark mornings.

What annoys iPhone users? My mate has an iPhone and it updated automatically. :?

As usual when something simple happens like the clocks changing, Apple's magnificent brilliant and all power iPhone fails. Peoples alarms were going off an hour early, an hour late or not at all!

Mine just updated itself as well. It was fab, I was using it and suddenly it was just 2am <3

iPhones <3 Keep your Jealousberry <3

See mine updated and then canceled all my alarms, so I didn't wake up for the Formula 1.

My iPod Touch updated automatically. Anyhoo, I really don't see a point in it. I agree with the "no 4pm sunsets in December" thing.

My F1 alarm went off at the right time on my iPhone.

I did "slide to stop" and go straight back to sleep though.

2 of the guys at Sara's work had diligently re-set their phone clocks before going to bed so as not to be late for work. Then the phone re-set itself meaning they both turned up an hour early. Ha!

My Jealousberry updated itself correctly at the right time too, but the alarm also goes off at the correct time. ;)

Two friends at work have iPhones and both said they're alarms went off an hour early on Monday AND this morning. Of course the dilemma is do you set it an hour later only to be late for work?
