Dreier Looping/Magnum Force

Mummy Looper and Daddy Looper loved each other very much. They had spent their whole lives together happily married, but there was one thing that saddened them both; they couldn't have children. No matter how much Mummy and Daddy rutted, all night long and in a variety of positions, no baby Looper happened.

One day, while walking through the woods though, Mummy Looper and Daddy Looper were approached by a magical wizard called Lord Schwartzkopf. Lord Schwartzkopf said he had a magical white potion he could give to Mummy Looper to help her have the baby she desired.

So Lord Schwartzkopf and Mummy Looper went into the dark of the woods and Lord Schwartzkopf produced his magical white potion and made sure Mummy Looper drank it all up. Every day, Lord Schwartzkopf and Mummy Looper would go into the woods and she would have her potion.

Sure enough, eleven months later, Mummy Looper gave birth to a bouncing baby. They called him little Triple Looper. However, Daddy Looper was very suspicious. Both Mummy Looper and Daddy Looper on had a single inversion each, but little Triple Looper had three, which is why he was called little Triple Looper in the first place. So Daddy Looper set out to find Lord Schwartzkopf.

Upon arriving at Lord Schwartzkopf's castle and accusing him of playing humpty-bump with Mummy Looper, Lord Schwartzkopf flew into a rage.

"You ungrateful chain dog," he yelled. "I hereby banish you forever to live in down-trodden parks, be off to Scotland!"

With a poof of smoke, Daddy Looper was banished. Still enraged, Lord Schwartzkopf flew to Mummy Looper. He took up little Triple Looper in his arms and fled.

"For your greed, I am taking your child to raise as my own!" He yelled back at her as he ran into the night.

Mummy Looper fell into deep despair and her tears rusted her to the spot, where she still is SBNO to this day.

Lord Schwartzkopf took little Triple Looper to a place far and beyond, out of reach to all but the most hardened folk. He renamed Triple Looper to Magnum Force and let him grow into a tall and proud coaster. Magnum Force recognised only Lord Schwartzkopf as his father, and the sad day came when Lord Schwartzkopf was no longer for this world.

"My son," he lamented. "I don't have long now in this world, but it's time I told you the truth".

With that, he told Magnum Force the tale of his conception, and of his true Mother and Father; then he died. Magnum Force was tortured by the truth and vowed to find his Mother. He bought the first ticket he could to Mexico City on his long quest to discover his parents.

Sadly, upon arrival he was mugged, dressed like a whore and chained down. There he still lives, under a stupor of drugs and rape induced amnesia. They call him Montaña Infinitum, but the legend says that if you whisper his true name "little Triple Looper" softly as you pass by, he will rise up unbound and take revenge for all the wrongs that have been done to him.

I'm hope if I go to mexico it's open. Mexico seems like a dying ground for old Schwartzkopf's. I never managed to get on it at Flamingo Land but might get on it in Mexico next year.
Looks like a great ride though!

Hahaha, I'm going to read The Story of Magnum Force whenever I feel down.

Now that I've stopped laughing at furie's epic bedtime story, I've managed to dig out this old blog post I wrote a few years back on Magnum Force.

Hope it is of some interest. :)

Hello and welcome to our brand new running feature, ‘Where Are They Now?’. Over the next couple of months we’ll be looking at great rides from the UK theme park past and seeing just where they are in the world today. First up, we’re putting the spotlight on Flamingo Land’s historic rollercoaster, Magnum Force, which operated from the year 2000 to 2005.

Flamingo Land purchased Magnum Force back in June 1999 in attempt to resurrect the theme park following an alarming dip in attendances the previous season. Before heading over to North Yorkshire, Magnum Force operated at Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia under the name of Triple Looper, where prior to that it worked on the fair circuit for 12 years under the ownership of Rudolf Barth who called it Dreier Looping. If the name hadn’t give it away already, Magnum Force had three vertical loops and was infact the first rollercoaster to do so in the world when it originally opened back in 1984. It was the only triple looper in Europe by time it reached the UK. It also established Flamingo Land as the coaster capital of Europe, boasting more rollercoasters than any other theme park on the continent.

It’s safe to say that not only did Magnum Force steady the ship at Flamingo Land, it catapulted the park into the new millennium with a bang and they’ve never looked back since, going from strength to strength, year after year. The Schwarzkopf coaster became an instant classic at Flamingo Land, opening with very positive reviews and proving a hit with thrillseekers due to the ride’s forceful nature. Reaching speeds of up to 53mph and pulling 4.7Gs, the ride was certainly not one for the faint hearted! Unfortunately the curtain was called on its time after only five years in accordance with Flamingo Land’s re-development programme which would see them move on from travelling rides, and start to bring in fully themed fixed additions. Magnum Force was sold along with it’s brother, The Bullet, to Vekoma in late 2005 as part-payment for their new rollercoaster, Kumali.

So where is our dearest Magnum Force today then? Well, after an year’s absence from the scene in 2006, Magnum Force reopened in 2007 at La Feria Chapultepec Magico – a theme park in Mexico! In true Mexican style, the ride was also given a vibrant new paint job of blue, white and yellow! Looking at the photos, we have to say they’ve done a bloody good job on it too! The ride is looking good as new and we’re sure it’s proving just as popular over there as it did here. Very few enthusiasts will ever forget Magnum Force and the impact it made at Flamingo Land, with many including myself, wishing it never left our shores!

^ That's a good read, Nathan. Do you have any similar blogs worth reading?

To be fair, furie does live up north so if he went outside, it wouldn't look anything like that. More like this...

Are you sure that's the real history Nathan? I have my doubts... ;) :p

OMG! The posh side of town, they won't let me near that place :(

Yeah, when I took that photo, the locals we're pretty scared at first, what with my proper fitting clothes, no flat cap and posh image capturing device in my hand. They were really friendly though, one even invited in for a slice of lard cake and a pint of mild.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I do have a few other blog posts lurking around somewhere as I used to post them up on Ride Guide when they were published. I'll see what I can find.

Unfortunately I don't have a link to the blog itself as I decided to discontinue with it after I started university. You never know though, now that I'm a little better with time management I might start it up again.
