I was thinking about visiting Drayton Manor this year, as its been a while for me, 2006 was my last trip. So I went on their website to 'catch up' on things and noticed that their entrance price for Adults for this year is a whopping £28.

Hmm, without sounding like a tight arse, that is way too much for Drayton. I thought Flamingo's £23 was too much, but that now seems like a bargain compared to Drayton.

Its alright parks like Alton and Thope charging £38, because you can pick up BOGOF's everywhere, so you're never likely to actually pay full price, yet from what I can remember, Drayton dont do many offers.

So what do you think about £28 for Drayton Manor?

Maybe a little too high, it just doesn't seem that great at the moment, desperatly needs a new thrill ride and coaster!

Christ, that is expensive.

I think, if anything, it's down to Thomas The Tank Engine Land.

Kids are going to pressure mummy and daddy into taking them, so why not sting the parents for an extra few quid?

If parks like Thorpe and Alton can charge £38 (seriously, £38! That's also disgusting!) then the independent parks like DMP or FL can happily charge a tenner less and play the value for money card.

So I don't really think we should be aiming spite towards DMP, but more the "Big Four" (TP, AT, CWoA and BPB) for inflating their prices and being able to get away with it.

It is quite expensive but as Ian said it's all because of parks like Alton charges huge amounts. Because then people will say if it's that much to get into Alton, this is reasonable for Drayton Manor. Personally if I were going I would use Tesco clubcard vouchers.

Like I said though, you can pick up BOGOF's everywhere for Alton & Thorpe, yet you cant for Drayton.

Another thing, at least Alton and Thorpe are adding big attractions to jusify a price inscrease. The way I see it, Drayton has nothing more to offer me than when I last went, 4 years ago.

When you consider what's there:

Two "big" coasters
2-3 decent flats
Decent water ride
Bunch of kiddy crap,

then yeah, it's waaaaaaaayyyyy too much.

I paid for Drayton the other year, would not make that mistake again.

Tesco club card points are being used this time and tbh they dont really ask for to many points so thats ok.

I think £28 is to much but AI charge £20 now and they do not have a zoo or Thomas Land so maybe its not to much.

Its the main reason we arn't doing the Drayton half of the live. Its just too much. 3 Adult tickets must be £84....ouch. Much rather do Alton again for the day.

^Same here Leigh, it's just too much for a mediocre park, I'd much rather do Alton again for free on the ol' Anal Pass, much better value for money ;]

I've never actually been to Drayton Manor, but from what I've heard, I don't really want to pay that much for it...

Perhaps with the extra money off the gate they intend on buying more brushes, bins and paint!

Then again i doubt it! Rip off i say!
