I have been a member of CF since 2006 and have visited the website multiple times daily ever since, however I rarely ever post and thought it was about time I did. This is my first trip report so I apologise in advance if it isn’t very good.
Also apologies for the delay, we visited Disney beginning of February and just haven’t gotten round to writing the report until now.

Andy and I decided to go to Euro Disney when I saw an offer in the sun for day trips; we knew a day wouldn’t be enough with all the traveling involved so we opted to stay for 2 nights in the sequoia Lodge Hotel. We decided to drive there; as I live near Cardiff it was a long one, so we drove down to Brighton in order to get a credit on the pier, however when we arrived everything was shut due to thigh winds so we opted to go and see Tangled at the cinema. (Quite fitting we thought)
On Sunday 6th February we set off to Dover in order to catch our ferry to Calais. We were very lucky as all the other ferries had been cancelled due to the high winds. We arrived in France and began the long drive to Disney. As we got closer to Paris Andy got very frustrated with the traffic and the crapnav. We took a detour as the roads were congested so the satnav took us into Paris, which was hell. We saw a “Lighthouse” ahead of us witch turned out to be the Eiffel Tower.

We arrived at Disney and checked into the hotel, then made our way to the room. It was well themed and pretty spacious with two large double beds.

After dumping all our things we tried to get something to eat but all the restaurants were full so we headed to the downtown Disney are for a quick bite to eat.

Again due to high winds their balloon was closed, which we were pretty disappointed with, but nothing we could do.

One of the many Disney stores.
We grabbed a sandwich at around 8 Euros and visited all the quirky shops in the area. I wanted to buy myself a giant stitch teddy that costs around £20 in the UK Disney stores, so I’m sure you can imagine I had a heart attack when I saw they were 55 Euros!! That gives you an idea of just how expensive the place is.
We went to our room to get some sleep ready for our early start in the morning. We woke up and headed down to breakfast, we found this a little confusing. A sign said we had to pay 7.50 Euros each but we were let in and sat at a table and we started eating, breakfast consisted of a buffet of cold meats, cheese, cereal, yogurts, juices and various breads. We were the first in for breakfast so it was quiet but got busier as we finished. I was determined to make the most of our magic hour and wanted to be at the park before it opened. A member of staff asked for our card so we showed them the “Hotel Pass” we were given at check inn, turns out they meant a food pass subsequently we got breakfast free as it seemed the staff member couldn’t really be bothered to talk to us in English.

After riding Buzz we went on Mission Space twice as it was a walk on, once at the back and once at the front. I thought the front was so much better than the back, was quite a fun and rough ride. The theming was pretty cool but not outstanding.

We then wanted to go on Thunder Mountain and Indiana Jones but both of these areas where closed until 10am as they only opened half of the park for the magic hour, this was pretty disappointing but Disney wouldn’t be Disney without……. It’s A Small World!!

CHRISTMAS!!

At 10am the other areas opened and we ran to Thunder Mountain, I was pretty disappointed with this ride, then again I was comparing it to the Thunder Mountain in Florida that I rode in 2005 when I was quite a bit smaller.
http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/6418/dscf5523g.jpg[/img]
After Thunder we made our Way to Indiana Jones. I was pretty impressed with theming but the ride itself wasn’t really that amazing.

Indiana was the last ride we wanted to do in the Disneyland Park and thanks to our magic hour we got to walk on all the rides, this was helped by hotel guests that didn’t take advantage of the full hour and just strolled into the park at around 9:30.
We arrived at Disney Studios around 11am, as Andy and I both love TOT we wanted to spend more time in this park, so this worked out well.

To get into the park you need to walk through the “Studio” it’s pretty cool inside, there’s lots of neon lights and it’s quite well themed. There are numerous restaurants, eateries and a photo centre.

Our first ride was Tower of Terror, it had about a 30 min queue, well worth the wait in my opinion. It’s very different to the one in Florida, you don’t move into the shaft, you just drop, which took me by surprise. As neither of us are fluent in French the experience was killed a little by the dubbed over pre-ride/on-ride videos, but never the less the ride and theming is still fantastic!

After TOT we went to RnR. We queued around 30 mins and I was extremely disappointed. There was no theming or pre-show, the ride just consisted of a few lasers in a semi dark room, my speakers were also broken so that completely killed the experience. I was so gutted there wasn’t a giant doughnut!

The parade was quite short and only consisted of a few floats so it went down Main Street twice, the music was very catchy so I ended up buying the CD as a souvenir.
We headed back to the hotel happy, we only had one day in the parks and thankfully it was all we needed, as we were walking through the hotel we stumbled across this.. Woooooo!

The end of the our last day was arriving so we thought we would treat ourselves and go to the Wild West Show. (ps sorry for the huge images)

Holy hell, let's have some resized pictures please!

To be fair - I didn't have a good time at the dinner show, I spent the whole night complaining that they kept missing me out when serving food & drink! I left hungry & thirsty - for 57 Euros, what a mug!!!

Great report Luke :)

Wow, I would have read that report as I like looking at what other peeps think of DLP but those pictures made me think again. WTH DUDE!?!

Like peep, I waned to read but the photos took forever to load due to their size. IS there any chance you could edit with smaller photos? Looks like a well written, colorful report but the large photos makes it difficult to read.

The photos are gorgeous & it would be a shame if people can't view this report due to their load times, so I hope you can re-size them.

Stupid question maybe, but how do I resize them and what size should they be?
It's ridiculous, the page wont even load lol
Sorry guys

Max 800x600 & any photo editing software has a re-size option.

I've taken out the image tags (well, about half of them, there are still some trailing bits I couldn't be bothered with, you'll have to sort them out yourself sheepboy).

Like everyone has said, it's great to have a lovely, detailed and photo filled trip report. The images make it unreadable though. Having the report there, it needs to be viewed by everyone. It just crashed my browser. So sorry to remove them, but guaranteed nobody would respond to this topic other than to say "I couldn't read it as the images were too huge" :(

Provided you have Windows XP

Don't Vista and Windows 7 come with a system for doing it anyway?

Obviously a Mac would read your mind and not only resize them, but upload them and make you a cup of tea for when you'd finished ;)

If he was using Linux, then there's no way he'd have uploaded the files in any way that wasn't as compressed and efficient as is humanly possible, using the most obscure command line application that would resize the images, upload them, make the cup of tea, goad the Mac for being inefficient and a poor substitute for true Linux, then solved world hunger; all using less than 2.67 million CPU cycles and in under 347Kb.

Test!

After dumping all our things we tried to get something to eat but all the restaurants were full so we headed to the downtown Disney are for a quick bite to eat.

Again due to high winds their balloon was closed, which we were pretty disappointed with, but nothing we could do.

Planet Hollywood
15%20%28Medium%29.jpg

We made our way to Space Mountain, but I got distracted by Buzz Lightyear Wink
33%20%28Medium%29.jpg

34%20%28Medium%29.jpg

After riding Buzz we went on Mission Space twice as it was a walk on, once at the back and once at the front. I thought the front was so much better than the back, was quite a fun and rough ride. The theming was pretty cool but not outstanding.
35%20%28Medium%29.jpg

36%20%28Medium%29.jpg

We then wanted to go on Thunder Mountain and Indiana Jones but both of these areas where closed until 10am as they only opened half of the park for the magic hour, this was pretty disappointing but Disney wouldn’t be Disney without……. It’s A Small World!!

Great report! €8 for a sarnie? WTF?!

I love the cheapness of taking a photo of your ORP <3

Thanks for re-posting with decent sized images.

The whole breakfast shenanigans sounds a bit odd. Surely they would have given you the food pass when you checked in? I'm only stayed at one of the Disney hotels there and only remember queuing for a while before getting in, I don't actually remember any fuss about cards etc. I would have thought that hotel guests got free breakfast and that the cost on that board you saw was for other peeps trying to get in that weren't staying at that hotel.

Looks like Extra Magic hours was very quiet when you went. How comes you didn't ride all the dark rides in Fantasyland if you had so much time to 'waste'. I'm also confused as to why you didn't take the opportunity to ride Star Tours considering you stood outside it.

Ian you should see what Disney have done to the orp screens at the exit of ToT, it's quite amusing as you can barely see the peeps on the ride. Yeah, Disney clearly loathe peeps taking photos without paying for an official copy.

Look forward to seeing the next part of your trip report.

Part 2

At 10am the other areas opened and we ran to Thunder Mountain, I was pretty disappointed with this ride, then again I was comparing it to the Thunder Mountain in Florida that I rode in 2005 when I was quite a bit smaller.
76%20%28Medium%29.jpg

Woooooo!

I tried posing for a photo whilst playing but it didn’t really work.

The end of the our last day was arriving so we thought we would treat ourselves and go to the Wild West Show. This dinner show set us back 57 Euros for the best seats, we were pretty disappointed, the show was crap and the food was even worse we still had a good time though and we got to keep our cowboy hats Big Grin

Crush <3

And you got to stay in one of the new Sequioa rooms! Definitely an improvement on the old rooms!

Great report!
