So, if you though 3 roller coasters at sea was enough, then think again!

Carnival Cruise Line recently announced the addition of 2 new Excellence-Class Cruise Ships, set for delivery in 2027 and 2028! Following on from the 3 already built ships: Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee, the Carnival fleet is set to add 2 new sisters, yet unnamed to its fleet!

Maurer will be contracted to manufacturer 2 more roller coasters for Carnival, most likely to be clones of the existing Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster layout, onboard the aforementioned ships already in the fleet. However, as they are still a few years off, changes and enhancements may be made to the ride system and layout, depending on what Carnival want!

🤢 Really not wanting to do another Carnival sailing just to get more fake credits..... but the completeness in me says well, maayyybe....
although one ride on MG Bolt was more than enough.

With no guarantee it'll be open for your cruise. Technical down time can happen to any coaster as we know. It's rubbish but just the way it is sometimes but if it were to happen to a cred collector here that's maddening. I'd be up for the uniqueness if they let anyone to ride while docked but an actual cruise isn't for me in the first place.

Carnival Cruise Line orders 3 (maybe 4) new Mega-Cruise ships... and you know what that means...

Carnival Cruise Line recently ordered 3 more cruise ships for delivery in 2029, 2031 & 2033, with the option of a 4th cruise ship for delivery in 2035. Being built at the Italian Shipyard, Fincantieri, these new Carnival ships will become some of the largest at sea, comparing to Royal Caribbean's Oasis-Class ships!

From my sources, a new design of Maurer Spike coaster will makes its way onboard these new ships, differentiating them from the Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster clones which will soon reach 5 iterations by 2028... the new versions for the mega ships could see new elements that Maurer have on offer, which will be interesting to sea (no pun intended...)...

Oh and yeah.... remember this puppy?

Well, after the bankruptcy of Dream Cruises and thus the stall of the Global Dream project, Disney bought the ship in November 2022, in a bid to redesign and relaunch the ship as their own... now named the Disney Adventure!

And yes, "Space Cruiser" will return onboard, however newly themed and redeveloped to meet Disney's standards!

Welcome to Marvel Landing

Located on the ship's upper deck, this mighty area is a celebration of all things Marvel, where new recruits and seasoned super heroes alike can avenge their need for adventure with 3 brand-new, supercharged attractions!

Ironcycle Test Run - Launch into an exhilarating journey on the first-ever roller coaster aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship. It is also the longest roller coaster at sea - spanning over 820 feet (250 meters)!

Groot Galaxy Spin - Soar to bold new heights on this out-of-this-world attraction inspired by Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy films!

That looks so tacky.

Also, HOW are Maurer Selling so many of these? This will be the 7th one sold (one of which being the dueling desmo race) as far as I am aware. Skyline could do with head-hunting some of Maurers marketing team.
This ride has actually been set up for the best part of 4 years, about an hour away from the shipyard where the Disney Adventure (former Global Dream) is being built. They seem to be the perfect blend of thrills and family-friendliness on a coaster, especially considering weight and size constraints that come with building a coaster on a cruise ship!

Cruise Ship New Updates | New Ships, New Attractions & General Cruise Ship Stuff

Welcome to the updated thread about Cruise Ships. I have seen there is a lot of interest in Cruise Ships here on CoasterForce, so I thought it would be appropriate to keep this thread going. It will mainly consist of talk about new onboard attractions, such as the ones already spoken about on this thread. With that, welcome, and here are a few updates and some stuff you probably haven't seen yet!

So, lets go back and update on the past stories on here...

Carnival Cruise Line, best known for the first rollercoaster at sea, "Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster", announced last year the addition of 2 more Excellence-Class ships (Sisterships to Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee) for delivery in Spring 2027 and Spring 2028. It was expected at the time, that these 2 vessels would mirror the experience that their older sisters had, however just yesterday, on Sunday the 6th of April 2025, Carnival Cruise Line announced that the new vessels would be upgraded with more family-friendly features than ever before. They also named the vessels, Carnival Festivale (2027) and Carnival Tropicale (2028) both names again paying homage to the original Carnival ships. To the surprise of many, gone are the days of Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster, now in its place is Sunsation Point, an upsized Waterworks area, which they have dubbed, Waterworks Ultra. Here is an image of the new area, replacing Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster:

Carnival Cruise Line will be expanding again from 2029, with addition of its largest ships yet, codenamed Project ACE. These new 8,000 Guest ships are rumoured to be home to the largest waterpark at sea, beating their competitor, Royal Caribbean. More information about the new 235,000 Gross Ton ships will be available in a few years!

Now, lets move to Disney Cruise Line. In December 2025, they will begin sailings on their largest ship to date, the Disney Adventure, from Singapore! This new ship will feature the longest rollercoaster at sea. Which you guessed it... it's a Maurer Spike coaster. This ride has been sat around for almost 6 years now, with recent footage showing the ride has now been repainted ahead of its pull-down for delivery to the shipyard!

The Disney Adventure will float of the construction hall at the Meyer Wismar shipyard, in Wismar, Germany on the 19th April 2025! This will allow the shipbuilders to fit the famous red funnels and Ironcycle Test Run. I will further update the thread once construction gets started outside the construction hall!
Here is a quick reminder of what this ride is!:

Next, this was talked about recently on another thread, however, I might as well show it off a bit more. Norwegian Cruise Line has just introduced it's newest ship, the Norwegian Aqua on her first Transatlantic Cruise from Southampton to New York, were she arrived this morning (7th April 2025). The Norwegian Aqua features the first Weigand Slide Coaster, known as the Aqua Slidecoaster. Here is a look at the attraction, which may look tame, however, is highly regarded already as an awesome family attraction!:

Also arriving in the US today (7th April 2025) is the brand-new MSC World America, MSC Cruises' first fully US dedicated ship. This behemoth of a ship, the world's 8th largest ship, homeports in PortMiami, Florida! She features a first-at-sea swing ride, manufactured by Intamin Amusement Rides! Here is a look at this attraction, which I think would be a bit much, considering it is over 160ft above the ocean!:

I think that is everything now! I will try to keep this thread as updated as possible as I know there are many interested in the industry! I hope you enjoy the updates!

Well I'm glad at least somebody is happy with their spike coaster purchase.

Looks like they're not so happy. In case you missed it, since no one seems to be commenting...

👋

Are these an upcharge, or can you ride for free if you are on the cruise?
it was 10$ for 2 laps, and on my 7 day sailing, it was only open 2 days...and never had a line
Wonder how long before they remove the three already installed?

Wonder how long before they remove the three already installed?
There are rumours inside Carnival about them being removed on Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. They are a maintenance nightmare, structural nightmare and generally a pain in the backside. The removal of it on the future ships is a sign of what is to come for the first 3 ships, Carnival Jubilee being the newest.
