Bobbejaanland turns blue in 2014...

Bobbejaanland has gained exclusive rights to become the first and only park in Belgium to host an area dedicated to the Smurfs. Cue cute promotional pictures...

Small blue creatures will be present every day this season for "meet & greet" with visitors, interactive shows on the podium and photo sessions with fans. "We want to emphasize that the basic spirit Park, initiated by Bobbejaan Schoepen, does not change: we are Bobbejaanland. The goal is not to become "Smurfland". We welcome our friends the Smurfs with open arms and offer a beautiful house, all in the blue style of their own, "adds Roland Kleve.

In other news Revolution, the infamous indoor rollercoaster, is gaining a re-theme this year....

Other attractions and areas of the park are also apparently being given new licks of paint/minor changes.

To be fair I like the smurfs. They're cute and blue with big noses. What's not to like? I love them crossing the road, so sweeeeeeet.

I think this is a good move. The Smurfs are a Belgian creation so it's keeping it all "in house". No doubt it will appeal to both older and younger guests.

Not quite dead. Don't forget the two recent blockbuster hits with a third announced the other day. Certainly more popular than Shrek atm. The Smurfs have also conquered the test of time as they've been around for a long time already.

Good choice. Smurfs is a strong IP with longevity. Wish someone would install a Tin Tin land though, then I'd be excited.

Interested to see what becomes of R..Evolution. I hope they don't change it too much as it's such a unique ride, and by far the best thing that park has to offer

Allready done by Walibi Belgium from 1975 till 1991, with two dark-rides, boat ride and other small rides!

Anyway, Bobbejaanland and The Smurfs...I don't give it a long time!
