I got pretty excited when I first saw the name of this, as it was the horror walk-through that I used to work in at Flamingoland.

However, it seems that they're just reusing the name (same company own both parks) for a ghost train ride:

2010 sees the arrival of a whole host of new attractions including an outdoor

ice skating rink plus a fantastic magic show for the younger audience.

Our new indoor haunted ride Blombergs Tomb of Terror promises to terrify even

the bravest passengers as the cars whisk you around the graveyard,

the quarry and the tomb of torment.

Yes, I know the link says "new for 2008," but that's where the link for "new for 2010" takes you.

^You used to work in it? Awesome. What was it like?
This could be good as well but ghost trains aren't that scary usually unless it's at Brean of the ending of Over the Hill. :P

Haha I was getting quite excited (and jealous!) when I saw this, even though I hate horror things its one of the things Flamingo Land managed to pull off really well at the time!

Be interesting to see if theres any kind of storyline, as the previous one was based heavily on Kirby Misperton hall which obviously wouldn't fit in Pleasure Island.

Well this is for Pleasure Island, so chances are it'll be rubbish and look awful. They really need to start pulling their finger out with this place.

Flamingoland gets everything nice and new and dumb everything else here.

Though its good for them to finally get a new ride which isn't a 'spin & spew'.

Yeah this actually called "Shrieksville".

"Pleasure Island is very excited about this major new attraction. This indoor ghost train ride is suitable for the over 7s (as long as they are very brave over 7s of course). Be on the look out for ghosts and ghouls as the cars whisk you around the track through the six scary scenes including the Graveyard, the Quarry and the Chamber of Doors. Full of action and gore, Shrieksville is a must when visiting Pleasure Island this year"

hey i worked here on this, im trying to find some pics of it but so far no luck and hence how i came across this post. I was only there a few months just as it opened, probably the most fun at work I've had. I played most of the characters apart from physco because of facepaint! Just wondering if i worked with you at the time. I came from whitby with another lad he had long blondish hair.

we used to sit in the middle between groups, smoking, playing cards and overloading the smoke machine until the whole place was full of fog. we also used to put the sign up saying "technical difficulties" and go to the canteen and try and talk to the show girls. any of this sound familiar? forcing the lift doors open as scream and flicking the lights near that dodgy hole in the floior.

I started there in its first year, but a few months into the season. I think I would've started there in late July or early August. I don't remember a Dave being there at the time, so maybe you'd left by then?

I'm trying to remember who was there when I started. The entertainment manager was Martin, but he only popped in occasionally. There were some people I already knew from uni: Steven, Kelly and Marie. A bigger, older bloke called (I think) Alan. Some other younger ones who also lived/worked on the holiday park (Matt? Katie?). There must've been a few others as well (was there a Ken/Kenny?), but it's been a very long time and that place had a pretty high turnover. Going into the 2nd season, I'm pretty sure I was the only one from the previous year.

Yeah, there was that big middle room where you'd hang out between groups coming through and/or move between scares depending on how many staff were in.

From the second season, there was an intro video played in the lobby, so we'd have 5 minute breaks while that was playing rather than the constant stream of the 1st year.

The Scream character into the lift got scrapped after the 1st year as well. An extra corridor was added right after the lift, along with other new stuff further on, and the Scream thing had a tendency to screw up throughputs due to screaming children in the lift who wouldn't move.
