Best Theme Park News website

Voted for CF too, but I know Screamscape is going to win. We don't really have a chance I feel on the position we are on the poll. Shame really =[

Awww, always nice to be nominated.

CF news is so hit and miss (well, stuff reported on the home page anyway). Half the time, if it's been posted on Screamscape, I rarely see the point of re-reporting it as a large majority of coaster enthusiasts read Screamscape before any other site.

One thing that irritates me is when other sites regurgitate what's written on Screamscape. Good news sites are those that report on the more quirky, obscure stuff. I hope CF falls into that bracket.

Screamscape is best, nothing comes close.

Thats fantastic news, it's just a shame we're up against Screamscape. They are by far the best news website out there, I have to admit.

Screamscape is by far the best in terms of up-to-date news, and the sheer amount of it. They have "sources" from basically everywhere, and I'd be willing to be that pretty much all users of other coaster sites are very aware of it, as are parks, so the sheer volume of information that gets passed to them is huge.

However, the site itself is pretty awful. Sorry, I know we're not meant to rag on other sites, but it is. The way the news is organised on each page is pretty bad; it just seems to be all over the place.

I agree Gavin, Screamscape is very much content over style. Nothing wrong with that, just wish it could have both? Like, TPR looks disgusting as well. Loads of content, loads (don't get into how much you like/dislike that content, please), but, it looks like arse.

I like to think we have a happy medium between looking good and being informative and clever.

I voted for CF.
I actually don't read screamscape. Don't know why. I think it's just the way the site is layed out that puts me off and the content and news gets posted everywhere else so never found the need.
I agree with Gavin and Ben though that Screamscape and TPR don't look good visually. I can't go on TPR without thinking that it's all made on paint and free website maker tools even though they have really good content.

CF has got better for news updates. There was a point where nothing was posted for a few months but it's picked up now. Although sometimes minor things get posted (POV's of Pepsi Max and Blackpool on google street view) yet new ride announcements and construction being finished seems to not get posted as much. :P

I know that everything is always reported on screamscape, and they are far and away the best for reporting stories quickly, but I can NEVER find stuff on there. I never browse the site because I seriously wouldn't know where to even start looking. I frequently click through links on their twitter feed to articles, and still can't find the relevant piece of information I'm looking for. I'm hoping that this will be seen as constructive rather than slagging off, because as I say, they can't be beaten for content. It's just that there's no point having such good content if people can't actually find it.

I think with Screamscape it's a case of keeping up to date. Every few days they display a chunk of news, each with a link to a separate page depending on what park you are reading about. I know it's not the most useful of websites if you only go on once in a while but once you get used to it I find it works fine.

This is exactly how I feel about my blog Vertical Horizons. I rarely if ever post something that's on Screamscape already as Screamscape is popular enough that its pretty much pointless to regurgitate it. I have noticed if I get a mention on Screamscape my visitor numbers go from a couple of hundred a day to 2-3k a day which is nice.

What annoys me is when sites steal my posts and put them on their site and then get the Screamscape link :S

I voted CF. Not just out of loyalty,Just I haven't been on many others and I don't particulary like Screamscape. Mainly due to the layout and the messiness of it.

That's you?

I read Vertical Horizons <3 Used it a fair bit before we went to China to check up on how stuff was going. Goood work man.

I voted for CoasterForce, Screamscape will win for sure (at about 40% now), but their sit looks like crap, I hate the colours, the text, and the organization is just terrible. Still they do have sources everywhere and get news out faster than everyone else. I find CoasterForce is a little slow with the news stories and updates, but i'm not in a rush. I don't mind finding something out a week after it was announced. Its a hobby not a life style.

Yup, That's my blog. News in the East has been a little slow so not many updates recently but its good to know people use it :)

I voted for CF, even though I use Screamscape for all my news and stuff, CF's still my home site, so loyalty and stuff haha. :P

I guess I'm just used to it, but I don't find Screamscape terrible. It could definitely use work, but it's manageable.

Agreed UC. Screamscape pretty much just does news. It's the main focus of the site. I've never found any news on it, but others do mind ;)

For CF, it's part of an overall package we present so we don't deserve it :)
