"Banshee"

Just curious, and wondering if anyone knows the answer:

Why is it okay for a ride at King's Island to be named Banshee, but when Mantis was originally slated to be named Banshee, the name was dropped when the public found out what a Banshee was and what it's wail represents?

My best guess is that times have changed and that things are viewed a little bit differently than they were in 1996. But I was wondering if an official answer was ever given.

It was a local religious minority that made a stink around the Banshee name for Cedar Point. Indeed, reintroducing the name in a different place at a different time has allowed for the name to be ok. Many would agree the name was already ok for Cedar Point's context, but it was easier for the park to go with a secondary name rather than risk exposure to negative PR around the ride. A name is just a name, afterall.
