Bad News for Conneaut Lake

I'm sure a lot of you remember last year when Conneaut Lake was part of Pepsi Refresh to earn funds to restore the Blue Streak. Unfortunately, some thieves stole over $10,000 of copper from the ride. The story can be read here (via Screamscape):

I personally think it's truly a shame. The park can barely stay open and the past few decades have been rough and now this happens. This incident just adds insult to injury.

Having been there.. I can see the low lives in the area that would do something. I also think it doesn't help that CLP really doesn't have any sort of security to prevent such things.

Shame. Blue Streak won't be running for quite a while I assume.

Hope they catch the idiots that did this, copper theft has become quite a problem over here in the uk. People have Been stealing wires from railways and stuff, completely irresponsible.
