Isolated fire at the Alton Towers Resort

Alton Towers Resort can confirm that there has been a fire in the Cloud Cuckoo Land Skyride station on the Park. The fire broke out at around 10.30pm last night when there were no employees or guests present. The station has been destroyed and the ride will therefore not reopen for the foreseeable future.

There will be cosmetic alterations to the Park tomorrow as certain areas will have to be fenced off during the fire service investigation into the cause of the fire.

The Park will be open as normal from 10am with some rides open for early ride time at 9am.

Insurance job me reckons

First of all it was a joke, second the Sky ride is anything but new.

Quote from TTF:
I just spoke to the park, they have confirmed that there is indeed a fire in the Cloud Cuckoo Land Sky Ride station. The fire started after 10:30pm so nobody has been hurt in the incident, but the station is - in their words - "gone", so the ride will be closed for the foreseeable future.

I can not find any news on this.

Edit. You just posted the same time as me.

I hope none of the new things were in the station, they are not having much luck with it.

Official Statement from Alton Towers, once again from ATA Dan.

Bloody hell. How can they burn down 2 skyride stations in 2 years? Its a shame really as I haven't got the chance to go on the new gondolas yet. :(

It's weird though. It only seems to be that ride.

You would have thought they would have learned from the FV stations fire to ensure that it would never happen again.

At least no one was hurt, if the fire somehow damaged a cable while people were over the valley part of the sky-ride it could have been terrible.

Lol. It's even worse than the other fire. This station was made of bricks and cement and has completely burnt down whereas the other one in FV was made of wood and that only had the roof burnt off.

Some rumours are going around that it could have started from a faulty vending machine.

Just bad luck I guess.

They spent a lot getting the ride up graded just a shame this happened.

But it would be hard for people to be in the area when the park is shut lol.
