BEFORE: Sorry for not upright photos. Looks like this forum system can't accommodate long photos.
The story starts on September 14th. The day when I went hot spring in Gyeongju.
On that day, after the spa, I saw Draken running. I wanted to ride it, but it was a test preparation period. Just postponed it.
After 4 days, I suggested my friends go to Everland, but it was too far, costing $100 for KTX, so no. Just my home park, Gyeongju World.
Me: I WANT TO GO TO EVERLAND
my friend: No... Too far. Let's go to Gyeongju World.
me: Okay. Let's go!!!!
After the test
I booked train tickets and researched buses to the park.
D-day
Expecting for a fun trip, I woke up at 5:30 AM. Trying to sleep until 7:00 AM
After a shower, I took a bus to the train station(10 min, 850 KRW), and met my friends.
My home, Ulsan.
Taehwa River Station. Boarded 8:37 AM train. It took 30 minutes.
(Sorry for the not upright image)
We took off at Bulguksa Station and found lots of taxi drivers that attracts us to a taxi. But the taxi was so expensive. (Bus 950 KRW taxi 12500 KRW)
After a slow 25-minute bus trip, I arrived at Gyeongju World.
Entered the park with $20, special discount card.
At first, there's almost no one near Phaethon.
Grabbed some testing footage here. 10 testings, ride opened.
I was the first guest to ride this.
Got on row 1 of the first train of the day. (Walk-on)
Grabbed a reride(Wait time: 10 minutes) , and it was row 8 reride.
The back was pretty forceful. Great force on the 1st drop, really good 2-second long airtime at the zero-g-roll, more ejecting feeling at corkscrews.
Draken time
The wait was crazy. It was 80 minutes for a small local park. Being reluctant for the wait, but decided to wait. It took forever;;;;
The dispatch was super-fast today compared to 2018.10 TR. Ride ops know how to dispatch trains quickly. Dispatch time: 1 min and 15 seconds. Sending trains every 2 min and 20 seconds.
Got 3 seats on row 3, and floors go down, crazy 45-degree lift hill, and CRAZY FLOATER. Felt like my stress flying away.
Both of my friends blacked out at the bottom of the drop, they said no if they wanted to reride. But for me it was super fun.
Next I hade a meal, Lotteria, and saw a magic show crap because the line was too long. Meanwhile, Golden Horse shoot the chute had 60 min line.
Next up was Tagada, banned in US.(10 min wait)
Barely persuaded my friends to ride coasters again, the wait of Phaethon was 70 minutes.
(Aww... 80 min wait). As soon as I stood in line, the wait increased to 120 min, reaching the iconic sign of Phaethon.
There's 'shoes off' rule for this park. Sometimes, shoes fly off because of high positive G's.
Always give fresh airtime at the quick zero-g roll. Current best airtime moment ever. So smooth.
(120 min wait for ONE TRAIN OPS B&M invert)
(Before the last ride to Draken, I rode Mega Drop. (15 min wait)
Great 3-second drop+airtime feeling. I screamed like a kid.
Headed to the last ride to Draken, because of too many crowds. Wait time: 100 minutes although the ops were super fast.
Pink Mully+ Draken+ long queue
(Passing Immelmann)
So long line for a small local park. I thin Draken is a big hit for this park.
Right before I go into the queue house, the strong wind and a bit of rain started. I was worried that this ride spites. I already waited for 30 minutes.
(Time to ride) This time row 1.
The 117km/h wind blowing to my face blew me off. And there were also floater feelings even in row 1, maybe because of my loose lap bar? Thinking every row has different experience.
After the ride, the line grew about 120 minutes. No more... Too busy... As busy as thanksgiving week off.
Decided no more, so we went out.
It was too busy, but it was so fun.
Just surprised busy home park doesn't even disappoint me.
Total ride list
Phaethon X3
Draken X2
Tagada X1
MegaDrop X1
Total X7
Though I rode coaster not as much as last TR, it was so fun and memorable.
