Hyper Poster
I was walking home from school the other day when I saw this poster V
(In the bottom right corner it says 'rollercoaster' and seeing as its a 10 minute walk from my house I decided to go there today.

Brad came to mine at about 2.00 and then we walked to the fair. We didn't expect there to be any credits but we thought we would have a look around anyways. It costed £1 to get in but that included to tokens each worth 50p to use on any of the rides (varied from £0.50 to £2.50).

When we arrived we instantly saw an apple coaster and were both happy to get another credit cause were sad lol. Other rides included bouncy castles, trampolines, haunted house, tea cups, dodgems, helter skelter, and about 5 spinning travelling rides including a waltzer and a ride with no restraints that relies on gravity.

On with the photo's:

We was just about to leave before we saw a little credit in the back corner of the fair....

Went on it for £1. Very embarasing but also funny. As there was nobody in the queue we had 5 humiliating circuits of it.

Me and Brad on the crocodile coaster :)

Overall, it was a nice little fair and only a 10minutes walk from my house. We got 2 credits for £2.50 and paid £1 to get in. The weather was also really nice
:)

Any comments are welcome cool)

You looked and sounded like you made a cock of yourselves :P

Sounds like a quick way to nab travelling credits (If you count them) and to have fun in the process.

5 circuits! Lol!

You whores! Everyone knows travelling coasters don't count!

Anyway, there's nothing like seeing someone's dignity literally slipping away through some pictures posted on an internet forum, so bravo! (I also have a pikey fair at the bottom of my road at the moment, I daren't set foot in there, I might get stabbed!)

Travelling coasters do count!

If a kiddie travelling coaster dosn't count then rides like 'olympia looping' wouldn't count and we all know they do :)

I used to go to that Fair lol, good old Valentines Park :)

Do they still do the one and Wansted Flats?

The only fair I have ever counted is the one in Germany.

Yes but you don't know if you end up riding the same kiddie coaster more than once. With huge rides like Olympia Looping, Alpina Bahn and Hollen Blitz I think you'd know as there's only one of each. :P

^You gota love valentines park :)

Im not sure if there's still one at Wansted flats. I think theres a small fair somewhere in Chigwell though!

Edit: And Ollie, I know these one's because there the *only* fair coasters I have ever been on. (apart from the one at hyde park)

Yeah thats the way I look at it too, I count them. If its a model which I'm sure I've aleady done at another park/fair then I wouldn't count it.

Fair play on getting on the Go-Gator, I wouldn't have thought they would have let you on but I guess at any fair if you are paying cash they don't care. Probably a different story at a theme park.

I've seen that Apple Coaster at Southport. And Stafford Common. And Rugely play grounds. And Warrington's "Blackpool". And Sherdley Park in St. Helens.

I could have gone on it at each of those fairs. However, I don't actually know if it IS the same one. They all look the same, but then again, they're all clones.

So, if I HAD gone on the coaster at each of those fairs, should I count it as one credit, five credits, or just an average 2,5 credits just in case it was the same coaster half the time?

What if it was actually the Big Apple from the OLD Pleasureland? I've already done that one anyway and it went on the travelling circuit. Same with Alton's old Apple coaster. I may not have done them at a fair before, but it doesn't mean I haven't done them.

Herein lies the problem with counting fairground kiddie coasters. Yuo really have absolutely no idea if you've actually ever been on them before...

^Graffiti your name on it and make sure you ride in the same car of every one you ride. If you see your tag (how "urban" am I?), you'll know you've been on it before. I'm assuming the pikey bastards running them don't clean them.

Good plan Gavin, but I wouldn't be seen dead on a pikey fairground kiddie coaster all in the name of counting credits ;) - not even with the kids :P

Where's this "sensational roller coaster" they advertised?

If you're interested in counting coasters, and are worried about travelling fairs, try using www.coaster-count.com

They've got travelling coasters broken down by owner/operator, so as long as you make note of who's running the fair you're at, you can track whether it's one you've already ridden. They are doing a pretty good job of tracking which coaster gets sold to which operator, if that's worrying you.

I've not ridden many fair coasters, so it was easy for me to add the couple I rode last year as I went. I didn't even try to go back to add stuff I'd ridden before, though.
