I think many would disagree. It isn't just old people that remember the animation versions, many children today watch the animations. The live actions have mixed opinions across the board (I for example hated the live action Lion King but the others are OK). Most attractions in all the parks are...
Not only do they need to get a handle on the media situation, they need to communicate better with the general public about the ride. They risk the ride getting a bad rep.
It's not that I expect them to reveal anything. On the contrary, I do not expect and think they shouldn't. However, I think that they set themselves up for failure and ridicule with their new branding. They are sugar coating (being too positive about opening day, deflection), not providing...
Interesting... their rebrand states "We’ll say it how it is, no sugar coating, no corporate jargon – just the naked truth. Information is upfront and freely available"
Clearly just buzz words that may bite them.
I like it. I also don't. Makes more sense than studios. I like the idea of multiple adventures, multiple worlds. Fits with the current IP range. But the designs for the new Studio 1 building are a bit lacking. Everything to the right needs an overhaul (Crush's Coaster, Flying Carpets, Cars Rally...
The issue with some of these is where the IP belongs.
I think Warner Bros for Harry Potter is a given.
Dr Who - unlikely as Disney have gotten involved with its production.
Bond is MGM / Amazon - maybe
Paddington is Lionsgate - maybe
Kingsman - Disney
Monopoly - Mattel brands are tricky as...
I really don't like the logo. Primarily because it is just two standard fonts in Canva. It's basic and lazy.
The new logo really has not gone down well on socials.
How would you plan for that though? You would need it running in case someone pays the upcharge with no guarantee anyone will pay. You are sort of in the same boat with that one.
It really is getting worse... at this point I am becoming a little embarrassed that I actually like the park as much as I do (and that was a little embarrassing to start with 😅)
I don't think Chapek has really made a dent in the parks positively. The good aspects were all in play before he took helm. Where is responsibilities lie is with changes to the parks in terms of fan favourites with now a distinct feeling of the resorts being too expensive with optional add-ons...
I thought that the BBC and ITV signed up to the project after the species of spider was already found... it now just sounds like a good excuse instead of saying 'this was going nowhere'
You are exactly right - and this was my thoughts exactly.
As theme park enthusiasts, we see it a bit differently to Joe public or the business perspective.
In my local area - a retail park had a small Aldi. They then built a larger premises as part of its expansion for Lidl. Aldi then 3 months...
Teacher here - in my experience, the pupils are told to stay in groups and are left to go around the parks / resorts themselves. There are specific meeting points around the parks that they 'check-in' with. Some groups of children generally have an teaching assistant with them for most of it...
It has gone from the map completely.
What some are forgetting is that throughout the lockdowns, FL has had to continue zoo operations. It is well documented that zoos have struggled in the UK due to continued outgoings with no income. We also know that FL had to take out a CIBLS loan from...
