Re: Universal Orlando | Skull Island: Reign of Kong | Unknow
Its 100% autonomous, it's on a hidden wire guidance system.
In terms of capacity the ride vehicles will have 72 people per car. Someone calculated this on OU and it was around 2000pph.
I reckon we'll see it replaced by a coaster and more specifically a woodie. I don't think the demand is there for another water ride in the UK. Especially considering the weather we get, so to replace it with a coaster would be a good move.
Re: I-Drive Orlando | Skyscraper| US Thrill Rides
I think the main reason they would be opposed to it is because they are pretty much certain to buy a huge parcel of land right near it.
This is big enough to fit a third park, City walk 2 and multiple hotels.
The largest bit of land is big...
Re: WC16 | Thorpe Park | New ??? for 2016
When The Smiler marketing started the logo was broadcast everywhere without any reference to Alton Towers or the ride. In the new year I can see them linking the dolls up more with the ride so people make the connection.
Re: WC16 | Thorpe Park | New ??? for 2016
Both Loggers and The Flume must be close to the stage where they are more expensive to maintain than their value to the company. Wonder how long either of them will be around?

Re: I-Drive Orlando | Skyscraper| US Thrill Rides
Someone on Orlando United did a mockup of the Skyplex and as you walk into IOA it would be in the middle of Hulk's (now non existent) loop. Maybe they also had that in mind!
Re: WC16 | Thorpe Park | New ??? for 2016
With the direction the park is heading, it doesn't make sense for the first major investment to go against this new direction.
Re: Universal Orlando | King Kong Attraction | Unknown
Just come back from Orlando and the pictures really don't do it justice, the facade is huge! The rumour is that The Creature Technology Company are creating the big AA King Kong for the scene where the driver is taken out of the ride...

Not quite sure the murder of prostitutes is a family theme.
If they are spending the rumoured 30-40 million I'd expect to see something more at this level

Re: Rumored B&M for Sea World Orlando
Haven't they also trademarked Mako, I seem to remember reading that on OU. Considering the rumoured tie in with sharks I think that might be the more likely option.
Yet again on another Gerst coaster the track doesn't line up correctly.....

Re: Universal Orlando | King Kong Attraction | Unknown
The insiders on OU seem to think the driver will be similar to the scene in the Mummy on the MCBR where it is just a silhouette as in one of the scenes Kong will come and rip the driver out of the RV.
From the description my impression is that it will only be on the side near Ripsaw up to the Sky Ride area. That's where the fungus seems to have mysteriously been the most prolific.
Alton Towers have submitted two lots of planning permission, the first one is "Extension to the existing 'Air Shop' and the installation of a new themed entrance feature" which is rumoured to be a Foodloop restaurant. The second one is "Certificate of lawfulness for the lawful implementation of...
