Got to ride it Monday. Definately a great family addition to Wildwood Grove.
Can confirm it is as smooth as it looks in the POV. What really impressed me about this coaster is how long the ride time is. Its pretty long for a family coaster. Also, the second half really pops. The focus of the...
One of my favorite elements that was gone for a while but seems to be making a comeback is the "Batwing." Especially on an invert. Three coasters built since 2021 have one but you have to go all the way back to Afterburn in 1999 for the last new coaster to have one.
Heck! Why don't we throw in the possibility of having S&S redoing the track and going with a pneumatic launch more powerful than Dodonpa. that would make the enthusiasts blow their mind.
I happened to be on that side of town today and took a ride around Lake Winnie. Did not see any signs of this thing there or any extra construction going on.
I few month ago I was at Dollywood and a Dipping Dots guy said he thinks it will be inverted like Dragonflyer. Yesterday I was there and a girl was at the Dippin Dots booth this time. She said she got to see the plans. I asked if she thinks it will be a spinning coaster. She replied, "I think it...
FWIW - I was the one who mentioned to Derek that this is probably the Wild Mouse from Lake Winine. He was disappointed when I said that so it probably hurts him to update the AA page.
I went to Lake Winine in 2019 and the Wild Mouse was not running. The past two years it hasn't been listed on...
ummm..
Arrow - 1999
GCI - 2004
Gerstlauer - 2007
B&M - 2012
Gerstlauer - 2014
RMC - 2016,2017,2021 (LOL)
Vekoma - 2019
Personally I am with the group that thinks this will be an Intiman Motorcoaster. If you look at the ride lineup in Wildwood grove, Bears, Frogs, Dragonfly, Hummingbirds, etc...
Just because it was on a survey 2 years ago doesn't mean its set in stone.
Dollywood has been known to try 'new" coasters. There is only one "FLY" coaster so they may want to bring something different to the US.
Prediction : Longest inverted or Flying coaster. A Vekoma built coaster with no inversions but focus on terrain and flying through the trees. will be in the back of the new expansion area going behind the Upcharge parking Area. will easily be 1000' longer than Wild eagle.
First thing I thought when I read the topic was the Huss Topple Tower. There were only 5 ever installed. One ended up in a lawsuit of faulty product.
As far as we know, there is only one left operating.
Was able to chat with a ride op for a little yesterday. She was the one behind that control panel when it faulted Saturday. She said the ride had just opened that day, they had two successful ride cycles with full trains, then the third one faulted. Then the coaster did what it was designed to...
For the millionth time.... it is not the launch system! Pete Owen’s himself said that!!! Like I said in an earlier post, there are a lot of things that could have faulted to cause an E-Stop condition in the program. it’s been running flawlessly today.
To answer the wood/ hybrid question— the...
Maintenance Guy Here:
Logic systems malfunction all the time. I work in a billion dollar factory and we average about 4% downtime. That number is extremely higher on newly installed or modified equipment as in the case with
coaster. We can’t just judge the reliability of a piece of equipment...
