Just pure speculation from me (A non technical expert but have watched a few youtube videos in my time). There was a noticable change in the lift noise from the morning to afternoon on the Friday, I do wonder if they have burnt out the motor by running the lift quicker than originally planned...

This has to be such a gut punch to everyone involved. So much effort went into the planning and for it to be closed on their busiest week must hurt. Stuff happens but hopefully this has no knock on effects with their Mack relationship and future plans.
