What causes the most intense four-letter outbursts from yourself or your group (when not in the earshot of children of course ;)).
I think for me it's certainly Valhalla, particulaly the water vortex section.
Probably Lost River Ride, Splash Battle and Stormforce 10 up there as well -...
Merlin have sourced £200 million loans to fund the buy-out of a presently unknown company.
What do you think they will go for? A park? Another 'midway'-type chain?
I suspect it will be something on the international circuit, but perhaps there's a tiny chance of it being Pleasure Beach?
The smoothest Vekoma I have been on is Millennium Roller Coaster at Fantasy Island, even now it is in its thirteenth season. I'd be interested to know if anyone that has been on Millennium thinks that another Vekoma is smoother.
I've heard that Ben 10 is extremely smooth and this may be down to...
The two rides that are capable of running strikingly different depending on the time of day or weather to me are The Ultimate and Jubilee Odyssey. The former feels like it is about to stop going into the second helix sometimes and the latter can vary between ZERO and CRAZY airtime on the first...
The last one was Fantasy Island in 1995 as I recall?
I'm talking about one of a reasonable size, at least that of Pleasure or Fantasy Island!
Probably not too likely in this recession but as we're coming out of it now, surely one is overdue? I imagine one in the north east would be quite...
Does anyone know rough figures for what percentage of a park's turnover comes from each of the following: Admission fees, food and merchandise?
Given that parks in the UK always seem to cut the entrance fee by half via promotions etc, but food is always sold at super-inflated prices and...
Forgive my ignorance, but do such rides exist? I'm thinking ones that are encased by a structure and are therefore in complete darkness.
A good idea if they don't already exist? Or if they do, what are they like if anyone has been on one?
After being a member of these and other boards for a few months now, I've noticed that Vekomas, particularly SLCs, are generally heavily criticised among enthusiasts.
It seems to me that the problem is with the parks and the designers, not Vekoma.
Yes, they are not exactly silky smooth...
How long do you think it will be before this 'world' first' is done? I'm think where it sort of flies off the track and re-lands somehow, but perhaps you can think of other ways?
Correct me if I'm wrong and there is already such a roller coaster in the world!
I've been trying to research which roller coasters produce the highest g-forces in the UK.
I've found that Jubilee Odyssey and Stealth tie for first place at 4.8g each. Does anyone know of a roller coaster that produces more? Only interested in coasters, not flat rides.
Thanks.
