^ yeah, there are 4 six flags parks that have very solid B&M line-ups (MM, GAdv, GAm, and OG), but I think the reliance on batman, superman, and medusa clones hurts them a bit when viewed through the eyes of seasoned, well-travelled enthusiasts who place a high premium on unique, one-off...
As one of the most prolific builders of large scale custom roller coasters, B&M is a tricky one; LOTS of candidates.
There are 13 parks that have at least 3 B&M coasters.
SFGAdv - 5 (hyper, invert, flying, floorless, stand-up)
Carowinds - 4 (giga, hyper, invert, stand-up)
Cedar Point - 4...
in your opinion.
other people who aren't you might well have a different opinion.
which is why i said that the arrow crown likely comes down to how one feels about X2 vs. Magnum.
different folks are going to see that one differently, and hence why there's not a very clear call here.
i...
for Arrow, i think any objective assessment would have it as a two-way race between CP and SFMM.
as for splitting the hairs beyond that, i think it comes down to where one falls on the Magnum/X2 spectrum. both rides have their legions of die-hard fans and vocal critics.
to start, let's look...
quoting myself here, but i just realized that one could also make an argument for Indiana Beach having the best collection of CCI's as well.
now, they don't have any truly large-scale blockbusters from CCI (Legend and Raven at HW probably take the CCI one-two punch category), but between...
And if the rumor is true, and Indiana Beach ends up getting La Feria's shuttle loop in addition to Drier Looping, then along with their existing Jet Star, they will inarguably have the best collection of Scharwzkopf's on the planet.
Bummer about losing another CCI, that's the third one in as many years according to RCDB, and all from modestly-scaled US amusement parks.
Cannonball Run @ Waterville USA - 2018
Silver Comet @ Fantasy Island - 2019
Cheetah @ Wild Adventures - 2020
That makes a total of 8 CCI's that have closed...
Loving all of these first hand accounts from folks who've ridden two or more of these legendary machines.
Sorry for taking things a bit OT, but as I said before, these schwarzkopf multi-loopers have always fascinated me.
RIP Thriller.
Thanks for the first-hand assessment!
Even if Dreier Looping at IB takes a backseat to WEM Mindebender as THE single best Schwarzkopf on the continent, it's still way beyond awesome that it's being saved for yet another reincarnation.
I've never ridden any of Schwarkopf's "big 4"...
Wow, what a monster thread of coaster history!
I just went through all 28 pages of it, so cool.
As an american coaster nerd, I have a fairly decent working knowledge (though by no means encyclopedic) of coaster history on this side of the pond, but in typical navel-gazing yank fashion, europe...
SFGAm is my "technical home park", but cedar point is my "spiritual home park".
That said, my fantasy for CP's next coaster might be a bit unorthodox, and likely quite impractical, but here it is anyway.
corkscrew is very long in the tooth these days, and it's rather simplistic early arrow...
if IB gets both the the old shuttle loop (rumored) along with drier looping (confirmed), then yes, combined with their existing jet star, they will have the best collection of schwarzkopfs on the planet, hands down. hell, if they decided to go after an old wildcat for some silly reason, they'd...
