Yeah, odd is probably the best word to sum up the Dutchmen (I don't have Firehawk but Nighthawk is close enough for comparison I assume). The thing that made it such a strange experience for me was that, although the restraints were bulky, they didn't really seem that tight. I could slide around...
Interesting topic, and it's certainly one with no definite answer.
My parents took me to amusement parks growing up (Quassy and Lake Compounce near home, and BGT when visiting our family in Florida), so I, like many others here, have been going to parks for quite a large portion of my life. I...
My favorite would probably be Kumba's zero-g roll. One way or another it just had the right amount of force and aggression to make it stand out above the rest, especially in the back row.
Honorable mention would go to the batwings on both Montu and Afterburn. They both provide great forces and...
Maybe my friends are just mean, but I never got anything for Christmas. That was the day when my friends got new toys and wanted them all to themselves instead of sharing.

I feel like I end up returning to this coaster for a lot of these types of questions, but I really didn't expect to like Batman so much. Going in, I expected a solid invert with good intensity (which seems to be the general consensus), but I anticipated it being far out shadowed by El Toro and...
Re: I Drive Orlando | Skyscraper| US Thrill Rides
^The height is certainly the ride's selling point, but as I have said in my previous posts, I don't have a tendency to look towards the ground when I am inverting. Therefore, once the coaster reaches the main portion of its layout, the height...
Re: I Drive Orlando | Skyscraper| US Thrill Rides
^Right. And this is what leads me to not be as excited for this as some others seem to be. The opening elements will be fantastic pretty much solely due to the height, but the height won't make the entire ride good. The quality of the majority...
Re: I Drive Orlando | Skyscraper| US Thrill Rides
Maybe it's just me, but when I go through an inversion, I don't really find myself looking down at the ground. So while the outside banked turn and drops will be amazing (and potentially terrifying) from that height, I'm not really sure that the...
I'm not a fan of the brown supports. They look fine from a distance, but up close they just look...odd :? I don't think they mix very well with the orange track.
It looks like it'll have some nice near-misses going through the woods, although I wonder if they'll have to cut back some of the...
Large drops are great fun (I've got a giga, two hypers, two dive machines and a large woodie in my top 10), and the speed that comes with a large coaster is great as well. That said, small coasters can be just as good. Batman and White Lightning are probably the two small coasters in my count...
I quite like the color scheme, the ride looks good.
It's interesting how much work they have to do for the new trains. I never realized that the floorless trains were wider than the standups. Anyone have any idea how big the difference is? I never noticed a difference in width between the two.
I don't think anything I've ridden is both absolutely terrible and fun at the same time, but the ride that closest fits that description for me is probably Nighthawk. It's got bulky and uncomfortable restraints, and it's certainly not the smoothest ride around, but despite that I really enjoy...
Batman and Kumba are the two coasters that come to mind for high intensity, although I'm not sure how they compare to other rides I'll get on as I become more well-traveled.
I don't ride a lot of flats, so I don't have much to add in that area of discussion.
When I play board games with my family, it's usually Ticket to Ride, which others have already mentioned. We have the USA map, and its quite a fun game that is easy enough for my younger brothers to play but has enough depth for my parents and I to enjoy. We also play Rummikub, which technically...
Re: Gardaland | unknown | B&M Dive Coaster
^Yes, but I was under the impression that more recent dive machines actually had 90 degree drops. So did Gardaland choose to not have a 90 degree drop for some reason, or was it poor word choice?
Re: Gardaland | unknown | B&M Dive Coaster
Wait...why would they say over 85 degrees instead of saying it's a 90 degree drop? Or is this dive machine not going to have a vertical drop?
