Re: Plopsaland De Panne | Heidi The Ride | GCI wooden coaste
I've not had the pleasure of riding White Lightning at Fun Spot. But as it's a GCI woodie you know it's going to be airtime heaven. :--D
This is the type of coaster an English park should have, but they are too scared to build...
Maybe BPB should of gone to Kennywood to see how they look after their classic flat rides. Our H&S is so rubbish & is taken too far as it spoils everything for everyone when its only common sense.
Can someone tell me why was this attraction closed..? As rare rides like these should be saved. They did the same with the Tumble Bug & The Whip. An English park could of bought these rides & continue running them. I know The Whip went to Dreamland (any news of when it will be working again...
KI should do away with the Brake Shed & install a couple of airtime hills instead then head into the tunnel. Seems a waste of wood to have such a long brake shed.
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
I'll be there sometime this year to ride it as this shows small parks can own an enjoyable, loads of airtime woodie.

This would be perfect for Paultons Park, Lightwater Valley...
Love to see this get done. Someone please send this video to the park so they can see how the headache woodie they have at the moment can be transformed into something amazing.
Most coasters are over-trimmed, its so annoying losing all that speed n not get any "airtime" on the following hills
The Beast at KI was badly trimmed (when I rode it back in 2000) during the day along the straight brake run section, at night the trims were turned off and it was amazing full speed.
Stampida - Gave me headaches every time I rode it which was 4 times in 7 days, needs to have the RMC treatment or put Topper Track on to make it smoother.
Son Of Beast - It was a vibrating hell with my hands numb as the train hit the brake run. But still an amazing woodie in its short life.
I just think UK parks are scared at building a GG or GCI "woodie" which is a shame as they are missing out so much. Most of the parks could afford a wooden coaster since they are cheaper than steel.
It's trying to change the park owners view of them which is difficult unless they ride "Troy"...
There does seem to be a lack of "airtime" on UK's coasters but Megafobia does have some esp in the afternoon runs once the coaster has warmed up. None offers floating "airtime" like Shambhala does which is a great shame as we seem to be missing out again.
If its going to be a rainy day when I visit a Theme Park I'll just take my full wet gear & enjoy no Q times & have loads of re-rides. Bad weather does not stop me riding coasters.
Today at Alton Towers the only ride which has a Q time is Mr Bloom's Allotment, everywhere else has 0 mins...
