Eh? How do you work that one out? They're keeping the corks because they're iconic, nothing to do with the new ride whatsoever.
And I wouldn't read too much into flags in Ugland. I doubt they're marking out the layout, probably something completely unrelated.

It would seem Alton disagree with you!
The guy speaking in that video specifically mentions that it will be replaced in 2010 with a 'world first' and he also aluded to it fitting in with the tradition of Alton's existing coasters - and he said...
^I don't think that part fits with Air at all. It's supposed to be all nice and relaxing and floaty, but the corner on your back is suprisingly intense (to me), and is also rather rattly. It also forces me to close my eyes on a sunny day, so all-in-all it's not very relaxing. I think there's a...
Pssssssssssssssssthhhhhhh CLUNK as air brakes are released and then snap back together.
Magnetic brakes make an immense noise that I can't recreate in words!
And not many parks have this noise, but FNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARP! as an Intamin P&P crests an airtime hill on its upstops. It's a very...
^The only problem I can see is it's a bit short, and I don't like the thought of it having (or really needing) a MCBR.
Have people's expectations been raised a bit too much by Tatsu maybe? Not sure, maybe I'm not disappointed because I was never expecting anything more than a Superman-type...
I don't really see how it's going to suck. People always moan about the turns on S:UF being the boring bits, so minus those, chuck in a wingover and the splashdown and good landscaping and I think it'll be pretty good, better than the Supermen and Air I'd guess. Hardly terrible.
^I've been looking myself, never found one.
^^I don't know if this is 120 feet tall, but this example layout on S&S's website is certainly different to Steel Hawg. Might this be what Flamingoland are getting?

^Got it, only had some vague recollection of it anyway.
Regarding whether it's Vekoma or B&M, we know Universal have gone to Maurer Söhne for HRRR, so that may suggest they're not afraid to go with other companies for major ride installations.
If Ride Guide is to be believed, this ride will be 120 feet tall, and Steel Hawg is 96 feet tall, suggesting it won't be a clone. I'm sure S&S will have more than one off-the-shelf model available to parks if this is a quick decision on Flamingoland's part.
Well of course they didn't spring a surprise, but was there not some issue with Hulk where it was uncompleted for a couple of months where the launch track was supposed to go, supposedly because B&M weren't happy? I'm sure it was something like that.
^If you believe the stories, B&M and Universal became extremely pissed at each other over Hulk. B&M weren't happy about Universal installing a launch from a different company on one of their rides, and subsequently it stood unfinished for months, making Universal rather annoyed at B&M. Something...
^Speed Monster's still safe, this isn't technically an accelerator :p
Looks very interesting, and like it has a lot more substance than most accelerators. I wonder if this will be yet another Intamin ride with only 3 cars per train? I can't remember the last time there was a new Intamin...
Before I knew anything about coasters, I went to Alton with my family when I was about 17 or so and we queued for about an hour for Rita. I kept watching the launch and didn't think it looked all that really. I started to get quite nervous as I pulled down my restraint, and it rolled backwards...
I am a big stupid-face and forgot to back up my copy of NL to disk. I reformatted my computer recently, and the download link I had from January is dead. However, I backed up all my docs, so the setup file I downloaded might be hiding in my documents folder somewhere. So what is its name so I...
From the link above by neo.
That's the final turn.
Looks like it'll still be going nice and quick as it approaches the brakes, so hopefully it'll have good pacing and won't die after the MCBR.
^Not sure you can see any difference myself, it's too marginal.
Thorpe will surely say:
The steepest drop in Europe!
That's a pretty marketable stat. And that's all it is really, a marketing play (nothing wrong with that by the way), you won't be able to tell the difference from the...

Everyone's friend RCDB says 97 degrees. It's not always right, but I suspect that site's just rounding up. Though the first Eurofighters were 95 degrees, then the later ones were 97 degrees... So you never know, it could be 100 degrees.
PS. Does anyone else think...

That is a VERY sexy colour, I do hope it stays that way and isn't an undercoat or anything like that. I've got my fingers crossed for this one.
