    Toverland: "Discover your own fear"

Yesterday I went to visit Toverland for it's largest Halloween Event yet, "Discover your own fear". It's very similar to the popular midsummer-events during the summer holidays, as the park is opened until 11 pm (with rides actually being open until the very end except for the high rope course)...

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

That would be super lovely. Also maybe a hint at Wuze Town getting some TLC in the somewhat near future (especially the kids area needs some glass panels in the roof, and a proper state-of-the-art ventilation system). Schneck <3

    Heide Park Colossos retracking (2019)

That's only one step away from not considering clones to be a new cred. They completely rebuild this coaster with new track at basically orignial price and it just so happens to be the original layout.

    Eurosat 2.0 - Refurbishment - Europa Park

Rumor also has it that it will be renamed to "Temple of the Night Paris" for the time being.

    WTF Merlin?

The ship of an enjoyable journey as already sailed as soon as you have landed in Heathrow.

Love the red track, really was a great investment.

    Roughest/Worst coaster you've ridden?

Has to be El Condor at Walibi Holland. When I rode it for the first time, I rode Xpress right before that and I was kinda spoiled by that (in a "look at that, Vekoma really isn't as bad as people make it" fashion). Needless to say, I was wrong.

The grass is always greener on the other side. Nah just kidding, I'll stay here with my Toverland and Phantasia both an hour away :P

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

I might have chosen my words poorly, but that is precisely the point: because this coaster is loaded with positive G's, Vekoma is going to be extra careful about making them enjoyable ("floaty"), just like an actual flight with rapid transitions would feel like. The second half of a pretzel is...

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

It's what I'm making out of the overall approach they seem to be taking so far with this flyer.

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

I wouldn't rule out a Pretzel yet, however as I've explained before, Vekoma is being careful with the positive Gs, so I could see them only doing the first half, and then from the lowest point you just go up and do a lie-to-fly. To prevent the Pretzel from killing you, it would also pretty much...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

There is no shame in taking your goddamn time. The negative responses are caused by Magic Mountain's rush to build it's 20th rollercoaster before Cedar Point steals the show entirely next year. Even though the relationship with RMC has cooled down a little bit, who would have seriously...

    Your Least Common Opinion?

I really can't figure out what the deal with Arthur is. If you consider it to be a coaster, it's a terrible coaster as it slows down every 10 feet. If you consider it to be a darkride, it's hugely inferior to any 2014 state-of-the-art darkride. It combines the bad sides of both.

Does it pay off to build big?

See, what Six Flags does is something I would call "coaster purity". They care about the rides itself and not much else. With this logic, it's inevitable that every big investment automatically means it has to be a huge coaster, and once you slap a business-mindset that mainly cares about stats...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

Ya know, when people are comparing CP to MM, they always talk about the "Magic" in Magic Mountain, and they have a point. This place has a lot of stuff that feels completely out of a different universe. They have Tatsu, which is the one B&M that everybody wants and CP just doesn't have. They...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

Surely they'll have to rename Magic Mountain into Diamond Heights once they're adding another racing coaster. However, I'm still pissed af that nobody has ever created something like Agoraphobia vs. Claustrophobia in real life.

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

Very odd. If F.L.Y. is an abbreviation for something, they could have just trademarked the written-out name. If it's not, then it's an ultra-lame name anyway so nothing is really lost.

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

I've written this on PhantaFriends already, but looking at the banking of all those helices and turnarounds, then I'm not all that worried about pacing anyway, and thus would be very surprised if we actually saw a 2nd launch. My biggest gripe with the B&M-Flyers always was that they were...
