The only real interesting footage of the whole ride is at the 6:27 mark for anyone curious. The rest is partial shots over a fence and an awful lot of chatter about nothing much at all, except that it's quieter than HQCC...yay.
A pun is a play on words; that's regardless of whether they look or sound the same. That linguistic flexibility is the beauty of puns and it legitimately works as a joke in the sense of both 'polar', and 'pole'.
I get that some of you all have a problem with the kid, but don't you think this...
I quite like the design of the trains; they seem to be styled pretty well for the explosives theme. I guess the other most obvious thing would be to do something like Mine Blower's trains, but I think these are a better fit for this one.
Also, I do hope we see more of these Mack coasters pop...
Every time I see the be of these I think, it looks terrible, but it's not an inherently awful product that couldn't be improved with a slight change. All they need to do is ditch the idea of the quasi-dueling passenger trains and it's already a less clunky idea.
Having one single small train...
I get that it's a fairly small section after the brakes, but somehow the ride would seem too short and incomplete without it. Also, it's a couple of nice extra airtime moments...who doesn't love a bit of extra airtime?
Looking at some of the original replies, I feel like someone needs to stick up for Vekoma here because not only are they not nearly as bad as people make out, but they're one of the companies that's been bold (or crazy) enough to keep trying new concepts over the years.
They're by no means...
I agree with Matt N's list with the exception of the early 2000's. I feel like B&M and Intamin hypers were the status symbol for any park with a bit of money, and even though there aren't a ton of them around they seemed to be the hot new(ish) thing to have at the time.
Isn't China infamous for its periods of international isolationism, and reluctance to give its citizen's access to an unfiltered view of the modern world?
I'm guessing it's profiled like that so that it's a slow roll around the heartline into the first drop as shown in the animation, rather than something more snappy like Lost Gravity's first drop.
I'm going to misuse an old cliché from another fun activity with lots of ups and downs, "it's not the length, it's what you do with it". In theory, the longer the coaster, the more money is invested, and with that greater investment there's a bigger incentive for parks to come up with a quality...
It's not the strongest coaster line up ever, but it's a decent park with a good selection of flat rides and pretty speedy ride ops. It depends on how you choose to enjoy theme parks; if all you're after is ticking off items on a list then CW is 'meh' outside of the current big two, and Vortex...
I'm starting to wonder if maybe enthusiasts have it all wrong. The impression I get from all these responses is that in general people are won over by coasters that are pure dumb fun, rather than being massively intense, or special.
For what it's worth my other half loves The Smiler.
Even for a family coaster, that looks so underwhelming; I just don't get what the brief would have been for this. If it was heavily themed, or it was winding through the trees it would make sense that it's so slow and meandering, but it's just there...with the most aggressive MCBR for a slow...
It's hilarious that after all these years Fantasy Island is still trying to aim for a world record number of spurious "world records" that are entirely dependent on a particular type of coaster/manufacturer, combined with a very specific location. There's never been anything about this place...
Yeah, I agree, I was just tipsy when I thought of it. But yes, BPB have a definite brand identity, and that image didn't fit.
I do, however, love that whoever is doing their social media has a cracking sense of humour about just how nerdy we all are as enthusiasts, and is willing to engage...
