    Rank the GCIs

My top three all have great speed and intensity. Then come the joyful fun-filled GCI racers. Then the rest. Troy (Troy!) (That pace that keeps picking up as you go <3) Thunderhead (so much unexpected joy) Thunderbird (very good but not quite as good as the first two) Lightning Racer (lit up at...

Bobbejaanland to open a second VR coaster

Looks great. Still can't believe they've spent that much on tarting up an absolute dog of a coaster though.

Giant Wheel Park of Suzhou To Close.

Thanks guys, that's all really helpful info. Still not sure what I'm going to do yet but it's good to be prepared. :)

    Best Coaster of Each Type

Sit Down Kärnan (No. 1) Inverted Nemesis/Black Mamba Suspended Kavasten (I adore the theme and the station) Wing Thunderbird (without a doubt - miles better than the rest) Flying Tatsu (that pretzel <3) Stand Up Riddler's Revenge (they're all a bit crap though) Bobsled Avalanche (controversial)...

    Smoothest Non-RMC/GCI/Gravity Group Woodies

Only the most sustained airtime on any coaster ever! That's why it was my number one for five years. Only in the front row though. Sit there and your arse will never actually touch the seat.

    WTF Merlin?

A vague sense of superiority? The sad knowledge that even the poorest expectation, exaggerated for comic value, failed to predict Merlin's abilities? A Th13teen mug?

    CF Lives 2018

The Belgium jaunt sounds the most convincing for an alternative Live and is a much more solid trip than mopping up France. I've been to those four parks though so probably wouldn't come along.

Giant Wheel Park of Suzhou To Close.

Cheers. I have a day and a half but the half day I'm saving for Bund and city times. I've been to Shanghai once before but totally screwed up the flight connection and ended up with two days of spite and only doing Disney. Beginning to think it's cursed.

Giant Wheel Park of Suzhou To Close.

Aww bugger. Well thanks for the info anyway. I've only got a day spare so will have to make a decision if it's worth the trek on a whim, or to give it up and go to Happy Valley/Jin Jiang instead. Hmm...

Giant Wheel Park of Suzhou To Close.

@Hixee did you have any joy? I've just booked flights through Shanghai next month and want to know if it's worth making the trek across. Cheers.

    CF Music Swap

I'm in (and I'll try my best to actually do it this time). So anything from 2010 then. Cool.

    Musical goosebumps

Really interesting answers so far guys. I'm still finding this mind-blowing. Added a poll now so vote away! I'd like to know what @Joey thinks about all this as I once had a conversation with him where he said he didn't care much for music (which at the time I found hard to comprehend)...

    Musical goosebumps

It doesn't happen all the time. For example, if I listen to something new that's really amazing then that's how I know I've found a new artist that I really like because I get a connection with it. There are certain songs that pretty much always give me goosebumps though, no matter how many...

    Musical goosebumps

Ok, so there was some article on Reddit today that was fascinating but also slightly sketchy and I wanted to see of I can get some more people's opinions on it. The article suggests that not everyone gets goosebumps while listening to music. My initial reaction was that this must be a load of...

    Best Dark ride in UK.

Hex. It's not themed, it's real! And that music... One of the best dark rides in the world.

Alton Towers | Wicker Man | GCI Wood

For me,Troy is the Nemesis of wooden coasters, it's pace gets quicker and quicker throughout, building a huge amount of momentum to go through the twisty layout. Troy has pretty much zero airtime (which is usually the thing that attracts me to woodies) but it has intensity, speed and a great...

    Does Taron have an ORP

I think the distractions of a camera flash might ruin the second launch. The only place I wouldn't mind one is on the last small hill before the breaks, when you're still smiling your arse off.

    Efteling Replacing Python.

I'd count it as a new cred. All of the track has been removed and replaced in one go - that's the same as Hulk. It's not really the same as reprofiling in my mind. I count the new track installations (in the same layout) of the Plopsaland and Asterix kiddie creds as new too.

Troy knocks the socks of Wodan but, yes, the front is best.
