IP-themed rides that you'd like to see happen

Blackpool not having a Dr Who dark ride is quite frankly a tradgedy. Also a big fan of Firefly so I'd love a geek fest love-in with that. I'd say something Douglas Adams related but we've already tried that and it didn't do too well. I'd been waiting years to get on a Back To The Future...

Rock & Roller Coasters: ICON BELIEVE IT! (BPB, 23rd June)

I think a few of us are Altoning on the Friday. Up for Funny Girls times on Saturday. It's been a while.

Rock & Roller Coasters: ICON BELIEVE IT! (BPB, 23rd June)

I'll be there. Maybe with cake as it's my birthday the day before. I'll do ERT if everyone else wants to but to be honest I'm not that keen on paying for it - it might set a slippery slope for other parks and we've been so lucky with free ERT until now. Very excited about Icon. God I hope it...

    CF Lives 2018

I'm on board for Poland on those dates.

Park you didn't expect to want to revisit

Fun Park wins this topic for me. So many unique and unexpected things to do, I've never been to a park like it. And the staff were super enthusiastic.

    Best B&M Flying Coaster?

Tatsu. I adore the intensity of a pretzel loop, there's noting else like it, and the one on Tatsu is obscene. I really like Crystal Wing too because of all the theming and near misses. Haven't don't Ripper or Dinosaur.

    IMAX; yay or nay?

I don't really care that much for the big blockbuster actions films that lend themselves to IMAX. Occasionally, I've been but it's bloody expensive and I don't really care enough to bother. I think they are, mostly, a bit of a gimmick - the big IMAX in Waterloo is probably worth the...

    Best family coaster in England?

Call it nostalgia but I'm still voting for Vampire. Thirteen is also excellent as a family cred. Both have gothic themes and although, technically, Thirteen does more, Vampire has the way cooler soundtrack. Strong mention of Flight of the Pterosaur, also.

    Best non-Nemesis UK Coaster

It would have been Wild Mouse by a country mile. I'm still not ok about this. Gotta be Grand National then.

Another one gone ; Avalanche @ Timber Falls

I quite liked it on my early morning ride so I'm a bit sad. Can totally see why it's going though - I was the only one in the park and the ride ops said that was perfectly normal.

Early Changes to The Big One

That's amazing! I had no idea.

    Best themed wooden coaster?

True, the actual ride is a bit meh. Not bad, it just doesn't do very much.

Giant Wheel Park of Suzhou To Close.

:( I might try anyway tbh. I'd hate it to have been open and I'd not bothered. My main conference has been cancelled now (FFS) but I'm still going out as I've got the flights. Will have to root out some people to see but might have slightly more spare time than I was expecting.

    Tripsdrill | Hals-Über-Kopf & Volldampf | Vekoma STC & Family Boomerang Coaster

Yay, I was just posting about Mammut. Love Tripsdrill. Needed no excuse to go back but this makes it all the sweeter for a return visit.

    Best themed wooden coaster?

No one's mentioned Mammut at Tripsdrill yet, which has a short but sweet dark ride/theming section before the main ride that I really liked. Lots of moving saws and pulleys and things you'd find in a timber yard. Plus, the queue is a huge, neverending museum of really random olden day things...

    Smoothest Non-RMC/GCI/Gravity Group Woodies

Boulder Dash isn't rough, it just doesn't do anything.

Times a coaster stalled/broke down while you were on it?

Oh how annoying. I can think of plenty of other parks that I'd rather be stuck in.

    Question Bout UK Go Gators

The only ones I've been denied so far are Clacton Pier and Flamingo Land.

Times a coaster stalled/broke down while you were on it?

Eurgh. Half an hour sat on Joker's break run at Discovery Kingdom when I was in a huge rush to get off to San Francisco. Does us breaking Space Mountain in Japan for being too heavy count? The faces of the staff as we rolled slowly into the maintenance shed were priceless.

    Rank the GCIs

It's not even that bad to be honest. I've never been on a GCI that I thought was really, really rough.
